He didn’t. He didn’t understand why he’d have to keep this a secret. But if she wanted him to keep this quiet. . . then he would. “Okay. I will keep my mouth shut,” Sader replied, bobbing his head. “I wouldn’t want us to die because of me.” He cuddled right next to her side. He felt warm and protected by her. And maybe if she didn’t push him aside, like his mother did, he could stay here forever.

“Why? Because of the humans?” Sader shuddered at the thought. “Mommy and daddy say that we should get rid of them before them come after us. Because they might send vans and trucks to kill us all.” He was oblivious to the fact that he should keep his voice down. But if she wanted him to be quiet. . . “Okay. If it’ll make you happy,” Sader said, looking up at the girl with big brown eyes. “What about you? Are you a human going to kill me?”

“I’ll buy some!” Sader exclaimed. “I have to make Wolfy better. I have to. . .” Then he did the most unexpected thing. He grabbed Vee’s hand and ran down the pathway, a trail of fluff trickling behind them. “C’mon. We have to go back to the toy store. I’m sure they have some needle and thread.” He gave her the most brightest smile. “And you can patch him up again!”

Rin figures that it’d be a good day to go out for a walk. After all, the sky was a cheerful blue and there wasn’t a dark cloud in sight. If there was such a cloud in the sky, Rin would actually sprint back to the safety of inside. It would be a nightmare if a top swimmer were suddenly flap around like a fish. She could never live it down. Huffing a loose strand of dark hair away from her face, Rin rounded the corner and luckily, missed someone. She did not miss the next person, however. Her notepads littered the cement as she bent down to grab what were hers. “Agh,” She scowled, throat going dry from the sheer miscalculation on her part. She should’ve anticipated this. But when Rin looked up, she was completely surprised. It was little sweet Delilah. With her pixie-like features, she was very hard to miss in class. She was perfection while Rin was a murky mess. “I’m sorry. It’s all my fault,” she said gruffly, definitely not helping the situation at all.

Sader clutched Wolfy even harder when the Vee asked to help. Why should he trust her? She had torn Wolfy to bits! And with no reason at all! What did his stuff animal ever do to her! “L-let her help, Sader,” Wolfy croaked. “She can help.” “But. . .” Sader trailed off. He couldn’t lose his only friend to this girl. But Sader didn’t know how to sew. So maybe she did. “H-he,” he wiped his nose angrily, “I need to patch him up. I just don’t. . . know how.”

“Good,” he said, infatuated with her for every second that ticked by. Sader was pleased to see that Wolfy and the girl was getting along so well. This was a true sign that he should ignore the sinking feeling in his stomach. “I brought him to life in a toy store. I’m really glad we became friends.” And within no time, maybe he and the girl may become good friends too! “What’s your name?” He asked, rubbing Wolfy’s long ears.

It’s fine Lily. And if people get annoyed with it, they can just bugger off. Honestly, you’re just asking questions.

“It isn’t too scary, is it?” Sader asked a very child-like tone that was unlike him. He didn’t want the girl to be scared. And if she were, he’d gladly light the dreadful book on fire. When she tapped on the bench, Sader nimbly sat next to her. She was far too pretty for this world. She should be in the heavens. Sader patted his lab and Wolfy circled a few times before landing, satisfied, on the young master’s lap. “Oh, just taking a s-stroll with Wolfy. Want to pet him? He won’t bite you,” Sader said, handing Wolfy over to the girl before she could say no.

“S-Sader R-rose, miss,” Sader stammered, hoping that maybe she’d notice that he was being extra polite. Why was he giving his name to a random stranger? She was much too pretty but the warning in his stomach bubbled. Something was not right. “W-what are y-you reading?” He asked.

Sader ignored every girl that came from the girl, his eyes were only focused on Wolfy. Cradling the broken animal softly, Sader stroked his neck. Fluff was everywhere. And even though it wasn’t blood, Sader still gagged. His one and only friend was torn up into little pieces. He had to fix him. “Wolfy?” Sader said, voice cracking. “Don’t worry, she didn’t hurt me too much.” But he was lying. The girl had bit halfway through his neck and had even gotten some of both ears. Suddenly remembering the girl, Sader turned around, bones quaking so much that his knees banged together. “W-who are y-ou?” He asked.

Well, she wasn’t responsible for him crying out like that. Honestly, even the birds flew overhead from his outburst. “You really should try and be more careful, Remington,” Konijn said with a smirk. So he really wasn’t joking. How else could he depict their message? Unless he was a mind reader. Did they even have those in Warwick? Konijn stiffened at the memory. Oh how she wished she could just change everything. She should’ve beaten him with the bat before he ever stepped a single foot into her house. “Yes,” she said tersely. “Don’t you have anything that could help? Something of your. . . craft perhaps?”

Sader held Wolfy tightly under his shoulder, so much so the stuffed animal yelled. “Sorry,” Sader said softly, setting Wolfy down so he could at least walk beside him. “Something wrong?” Wolfy asked, tongue sticking out even if it was winter. “I just. . . you don’t think I’m dumb, do you?” “Noooo. . . what makes you say?” “Nothing,” Sader said, a little too quickly. But it was something. Pearl Schwartz said that he was too stupid to even past the sixth grade and that he would be even more of a weirdo than they were because of childish liking for stuffed animals. The two walked through the park for half an hour when a sudden pull in Sader’s stomach forced him to look up. The first thing that came into his line of vision was a very beautiful girl, loads older than he was, and he walked towards her. What’s going on? Sader thought, palms sweating and praying that whatever this was would go away. “H-hello,” Sader said nervously. Why was he even talking to her? He didn’t even know her!

Please don’t be emotional, it overwhelms me.

Being straightforward with everyone you meet has its benefits, surprisingly. And Rin totally takes advantage over this. If she didn’t, well, she’d be covering up things that were suppose to be left unsaid. Although her “friends” keep kicking her shins to stop her from saying that Sharlene Pent is an utter jerk for saying such horrible things about her dark blue tail. Even when it comes down to being the top three swimmers in swim class, Rin is blunt and can appear to be abrupt at times. Coach normally tells her to try and loosen up but she knows she can’t. She can’t afford to. Swimming competitively is her life. Without it, Rin would be nothing. Though she knows she’ll never be able to leave Warwick alive, Rin wants to soak up the glory for however long she can.

Sader failed to notice that something quick was headed right for them. So when Wolfy was suddenly snatched, Sader tried to register what had happened. A girl. A girl had taken her only friend. And though Wolfy was only a stuffed animal, he whimpered as the fluff flew out of his body. “S-stop,” Sader said, eyes widening as his plate of cake crashed. He stood up on his wobbly legs like a deer and asked the forks and spoons to help him. The utensils slowly rose from the ground but barely hovered over the floor. Wolfy’s whimpers rang deeply in Sader’s ears. “Let go of him!” Sader shouted, trying to reach for the girl’s hands despite his short arms. “You’re hurting him!” He couldn’t lose his only friend, not now.
