78820 Oh no. Sorry. It is a kindle book. I never thought about poor little Kobo people. Well, I guess it is back to looking for something interesting.

If you do get a chance and his books become available read The Orenda. It is a bit of a drama but really good.

78820 I loved the Orenda that he also wrote. Not a happy ending but you feel like you are really there and you see the "story" from everyones' viewpoint.

78820 Sorry I thought that we couldn't buy it but it turns out it is ok. I always buy my books in the states because they are so much cheaper and it was saying I couldn't buy it. Hope we have not picked this book in the past.

78820 Amy, It was completely my bad. I was in my own little world. So back to book reading.

78820 I have to admit I have not even looked at this book yet. I have 3 books ahead of it but I promise to get working on it. And thanks Lyndsay for noticing that I was out of the loop.

78820 I am with you Amy. I actually love psychological thrillers and sleuth type books - and then sometime romances when I want something super easy to read.
Just finished the book and the ending was sad but I did enjoy it. I am now onto my paid assassin books that I love as well. What I like best is to read about someone paying to have people they don't like killed. That is my evil side.

78820 I'm with you Amy! I am enjoying the book but I feel like I need a list of characters to keep up. I just want one of them to have a happy marriage or relationship at this point.

I actually don't usually read historical fiction but Lyndsay got me started!

78820 I have read so many bad books this summer so it was a nice break to read one that I really wanted to finish.

78820 I thought the whole switching back and forth would get on my nerves (usually I forget the other story before they flip again) but because the chapters were quick it was nice to flip flop and I could follow both so easily.

78820 Loved the book! Great choice. I could not put it down. It brought back so many memories of my friends who had lost their families in the Holocaust. And of my dad who had fought in WWII and his thoughts on it and the creation on the state of Israel.

78820 I don't think there is anything that could be checked in the amnio (like Lyndsay said). I think the author was just crazy. I looked up amnio and the results but most mental (if not all) disorders are not diagnosed by a medical test. If it was doctors would just be doing routine blood tests on people to see if they were nuts.

That is just what I thought. I also didn't like that you had no idea what was happening. Sometimes it creates suspense but it really just frustrated me this time.

78820 I enjoyed it (odd ball I am). I don't think I would ever reread it. Once was definitely enough. I thought it was so interesting that in the beginning you think he is a really normal guy but as the book progresses you start to realize that he has major problems. And at the end you realize the wife is also nuts.
I just kept thinking of my own children and I cannot even imagine not turning them into the police for such a horrible crime. They had no compassion for others. And they even seemed to think that a homeless person had less value.

You find out at about 45%. Made me think about my own kids and what I would have done as a parent... It is revealed slowly.

I think you will really enjoy it. It has been a long time since I read a book that develops a character. Paul is a little self-centered but in some ways his self talk is so similar to all of us. Though wait till you get to the appetizer and how he picks his (goat cheese and lamb lettuce). I thought that was so funny.

I should be fine. I am staying with my ex husband and he is a computer master so I would imagine I will be in Internet heaven.

The book is intriguing so far and I am enjoying it. I know from reading the review on Amazon there is something coming but if I had not read the preview I would have had no idea.
