I really liked Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You!..."I've read Fried Green Tomatoes, and I really enjoyed it. I read it because I love the movie. Obviously they're different from each other, but both are good. I hope you continue to like it.

That's about all I can remember, but I read so much on my own it's hard to know which was for school. I was a Literature major in college and we read a lot.
Shelley wrote: "What about Anne of Green Gables? It's been on my to-read list for a long time."You should get around to the Anne Series. They are wonderful. And my sister says all of LM Montgomery books are worth reading.

Nancy Drew Mystery Stories.

I really enjoyed "The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul" by Deborah Rodriguez. It really opens your eyes to life in Afghanistan, especially for the women. And it was inspired by the author's real life experiences.

That is the only way I can fathom how it would be possible to ..."I think you should count books you read to your kids if it's a book you would have read anyway...like Wind in the Willows or even the Winnie the Pooh collection.
Riah wrote: "I am currently reading A Lasting Impression by Tamera Alexander and Green by Ted Dekker, although I'm honestly reading Green more."I really enjoy Ted Dekker books. I think the last one of his I read was The Boneman's Daughters.

I am going to finish Anna Karenina and Stories Behind the Best Loved Christmas Songs. And I am continuing to read the Winnie the Pooh Collection to my daughter.

My goal is to just read. I have to find time to read while taking care of my 6 month old baby, so I won't set a certain number of books to read in 2013. But I think I'm going to try the Alphabet Challenge, where you read one book for each letter of the alphabet by title and author...52 books in total. We'll see if that actually happens though.
Michelle wrote: "I'm a new mom so figuring out how to manage my reading around my daughter's schedule is my challenge."I completely understand. My baby is 6 months old and I don't get to read quite as much as I did before.

Next to reading, I watch a lot of television. So my list of shows is really long. Curse netflix and hulu plus...lol. Two new shows I started this year were Bomb Girls on Reelz and Copper on BBC America. I really enjoyed both. I also began The Neighbors on ABC. I thought it was going to be stupid, but it's actually funny.

I'm so glad to find this group, because the name of this group is so me... I don'..."I love the Anne of Green Gables series. I haven't gotten to them yet, but I've heard the Pat books and Emily books by LM Montgomery are good as well. The first two movies are a guilty pleasure of mine. They're delightful.

My stories aren't as impressive, but I've met four authors in real life. My creative writing teacher in college was Clyde Rodgers, who wrote Lives of Quiet Desperation. And we met a poet who came as a guest speaker in my poetry class, but sadly I can't remember her name. And I've met Cindy Woodsmall and Annalisa Daughety at their book signings.

My sister got the kindle fire last Christmas and gave my mom her older kindle. She seems to really like it because you can do other things on it besides just read books.

I know in theatre anything after 1930-40 is considered a contemporary piece. Sometimes the dates can change depending on who you speak with.

The Count of Monte Cristo
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

I just finished The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul by Deborah Rodriguez. I really enjoyed it. I tend to read multiple books at a time. I'm reading Anna Karenina by Tolstoy, Worth a Thousand Words by Stacy Hawkins Adams, and the play The Wild Duck by Henrik Ibsen.

I enjoyed Gone with the Wind as a book and movie. The same goes for To Kill a Mockingbird.
