I have finished 53 books out of 50, so I'm doing a bit better than I wanted. I'll try to read more books next year. I need to solve my attention problem first, though.
I have just finished The Accidental Tourist by Anne Tyler. I'm reading Middlemarch by George Eliot and Ulysess by James Joyce.
Carolyn, your comments don't have to be about Classics. We are just curious about what other members are reading.

Sam Weller is my favourite character in the book, too. I love his testimony in Bardell vs. Pickwick trial.:)
How many monsters have you read this year? So far, I have finished two monsters this year. I've begun reading Middlemarch. I hope to finish it before the year ends.:)
I am about to finish The Pickwick Papers. I've read the first chapter of Middlemarch, but I'll reread it soon.
I'm reading Little Women by Louisa Mat Alcott and Howards End by E. M. Forster. The latter one made me cry for the very first time. I'd been able to prevent myself crying before, but the depiction of Mrs. Wilcox reminded me of my mother's who passed away in January this year. I couldn't continue reading after I stopped crying. I'll give it a try now.
"It is difficult for a woman to define her feelings in language which is chiefly made by men to express theirs."By Bathsheba in Far from the Madding Crowd
I think I could say I was attached to Jake Donaghue in Under the Net by Iris Mordoch and Newland Archer in The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton.
I am about to finish reading Far from the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy. (Only 87 pages to go) I'll start Howard's End by E. M. Forster after finishing Hardy's novel.
I have read 36 out of 50 books I have set as a goal and about to make it 37. I think I'll have reached the goal before November.
I will go with Under the Net by Iris Murdoch as the best closely followed by The Age of Innocence. The worst has been Home Again, Home Again by Cory Doctorow.
I should be reading The Age of Innocence, but I am checking this page instead:http://threepanelbookreview.tumblr.com/
I finished Tess of D'Urbervilles. It was a fantastic book to read. I'm reading The Adventures of Roderick Random and The Age of Innocence now.
