Hello All!

I am a huge fan of the radio show "Selected Shorts". At present I am looking for assistance in finding the name of one story I heard between 1991 and 1993. I remember few details about the story. However I've always to hear it again.

I want to say I 100% recall the entire story: it was one long sentence, was about one day in the life of a prince, king or knight errant heading home, followed by his dog. I am sure I am confusing some of the details or just getting it all wrong.

It left an indelible mark on my soul, because the story had elements of humor and sadness, and I was making dinner on a Friday night. And my roommate and I listened, wrapped up in the story.

I've lost contact with the roomy, searched WYNC's archives, written to the show, to no avail.

Any recollections, suggestions?
