Does this book have a similar pace as other thrillers? I am amazed how much everyday-ish content and backstory flashbacks there are. I'm half way through the novel and there has been only a few slithers hinting of potential supernatural threats or plot development.

I have never read Stephen King or seen a horror movie. I have a copy from the library. This will be interesting.
