I finish the year, having read 261 books.

I wanted to comment about Rabbit Run. Rabbit (Harry Angstrom) is a shallow and unlikable character, but Updike is a great writer.
He builds characters of the book well, and the reader lives the story. The book should be read.

This was a fun read. I enjoyed the first James Bond. I will enjoy reading others. I was shocked by how close he drew to Vesper. In that respect, Bond almost lacked objectivity (which other readers claimed he displayed too much).

I quit The Brothers Karamazov because I could not understand why I would care about the things that seemed like a big deal to the characters of the novel. I was happy to stop reading.
