78394 Similar to Carolien, this was my first (and still only group) and I have thoroughly enjoyed it, being pushed to read out of comfort zone at times, but getting through some remarkable classic reads that I would no doubt still be procrastinating on picking up, rather than just lightweight thrillers. Huge thanks to those who have put in considerable time for such a well run group and the many who particpated. Will be gutted to see this group close

78394 I must have read this some 40 yrs ago and am sure I enjoyed it then. Certainly some of the best known fiction characters ever. So was looking forward to this read. Well, I wasn't at all disappointed as finished it already and loved it !

78394 I had a little bit of trouble with names to start with. But I think it was just as I was reading a chapter every other night (so would forget things), but also it seemed there was a fair few characters introduced quickly. Perhaps it is also the names used are unfamiliar to me, so a tad harder to remember initially. Anyway, soon got used to who was who.

78394 Lucky me, my wife is a College Library Manager, so I've got a library book copy. I am about halfway through the book. Enjoying!
78394 "Atonement" is a keeper. Bookshelf for me.
78394 This was my first year with a book reading goal, which was to read a book a fortnight. So 26 books in total for 2013, of which it was to include reading all the CWAC monthly picks.

I exceeded my original target, as got through 36 books (yay!). Also, I read, from cover-to-cover, all the CWAC choices (I had to persevere with Tolstoy, but on the whole really enjoyed all the picks).

Might try and aim for 40 books in 2014.

78394 Gidday to all, from Mike in Wellington, New Zealand.

I've read quite a lot in my 50 yrs. Rather a varied lot at that too, so I'd never get my intro finished if I were to try and list favourites!

I am new to goodreads and this looks to be the very sort of group to push me along a bit, to actually read some of those classics I've always meant to and of which I had wondered about why they are "classics".

Regarding the "Please Introduce yourself" question of time travel, I'd say it's over rated - today is good enough for me.
