78394 I love that book too! Wil Wheaton narrates the audio version which makes that awesome book epic! ;)

78394 Almost done with Pynchon's The Crying of Lot 49. Not sure what to make of it. Anyone else read his stuff?

Halfway through Camus's The Plague. The read has gotten better but still heavy. I will have to read something fast paced and light after these two.

78394 Hello fellow classic lovers! I asked the question of another group I am in and wanted to ask this group as well...

Does anyone have experience reading Camus? I started The Plague and while the subject matter is interesting, the book itself is pretty slow. I am having a really hard time pushing through this piece. Is this typical of Camus or is it just my luck with this book? Thanks!

While that one is on pause, I started reading Lord of the Flies. Something quick and easy to read. It is a reread for me. I read this back in high school during my sophomore year. Figured it was time for another visit.

78394 I had a hard time getting far in P&P Zombies. Although I thought all the zombie killing quite hilarious. It redefines well-educated in the novel. I want to give it another try as well as some others.

I think it's a nice way to grab ya readers attention and possibly introduce the classics in a more appealing way. I'm not sure of any statistics on how many have read these and gateway into the classics all together. I'd be curious to know if it has worked out that way for any of them though.
78394 Thank you for sharing! I have a lot of catching up to do. I have read 8 so kudos to you guys being ahead of me. :)

Hopefully I can get caught up and back in my reading grind. Just had our first son so the sleep deprivation has taken over my reading time. hoping to read aloud to him while he sleeps though.

78394 Hannibal is keeping me hungry as always. Lol
I swear everything he cooks looks delicious and beautiful.

I am pretty upset with Ms. Bloom. She continues to upset me this season. And while I can't stand Dr. Chilton, I am so sad for the way things turned out for him. What about you?

78394 Almost done with Stiff: the Curious Lives of Human Cadavers. Loving this book!
And halfway through Ready Player One via audiobook. It's the perfect package of story, 80s pop culture, and gaming. Plus it's narrated by Wil Wheaton! Sweet!

78394 I am working on Divergent (audiobook) and will be starting another for my commute soon. I am trying to decide between A Feast For Crows or 1Q84. Either will be a long journey but that's what a commute is for, lol,

I, recently, finished Rebecca and really liked it.
78394 I also love the tree ents and they play a huge part in Two Towers. I think they are my favorite part of that entire trilogy.
78394 I must be reading a different trilogy because I loved Two Towers. It take a little bit but when the action hits it doesn't stop in that one. And I love cliffhangers and Two Towers is the top spot for that in my opinion. You can't help but immediately pick up the next book!

I had been think of all of those! Thank you for mentioning Daphne du Maurier though. I have been wanting to read Rebecca for a while so this is the perfect opportunity! :)

78394 It's official. I am giving up on Cloud Atlas. I am not meant to read it. I made it to the 2nd part of the book with the audio version. I found myself wanting to turn it off because I would rather listen to commercials on the radio. Then tried to read some of the book and that ended in me falling asleep. Not patient enough to keep trying. There are too many other books out there!

So now I am reading The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Ann Bronte. I am also searching for a D for my author challenge.
