So far I agree with Puma but I'm only at 30% and I think there's a chance still for this to blow me away. I do like it, but yeah...it may have been over-hyped.

Being a Bostonian, I thought it was interesting DFW's choice to create a future fictional Gray Line train that goes from Watertown to Inman Square. Currently you have to take one of those hideous trackless trolleys.

Gary is everywhere, simultaneously.

No, I didn't notice any spelling errors. I was just screwing around.

Who are Jonathan Franzen and F. Scott Fitzgerald? Are these friends of yours?

I think that will be explained later.

Unpleasant memories give me the howling fantods.

The one on Feedbooks is much more nicely formatted than the one at Project Gutenberg.

Mala, I've been finding
Hamlet references here and there, too. Granted, that one in particular might be a bit of a stretch, but I'd say go with it.

I think he just referenced it in case you want to know more about how the weelchair assassins came to be in their wheelchairs. But I'm assuming that the value in that endnote comes in much later. Is my guess.

Flipping back and forth electronically has been a piece of cake. Honestly, I wouldn't worry that DFW says it's part of the 'experience.' Not everything that came out of his mouth was gold (sorry, folks). I'd say go with whatever makes for a more enjoyable reading experience
for you.

Yes, but it is a simple calculation. If you want, I can contact Kris and she can add that info to her message 1's. Assuming she's willing to do that. Which I'm sure she would be. Because she's Kris.
Traveller wrote: "OK, i have a problem..-i'm reading this on the Kindle, and Kindle doesn't have pages, so how will i know when i hit P.85?85 pages ÷ 1079 total book pages = 8% of Kindle
(And since my Kindle version has 25,757 total Kindle locations, 8% will be at Kindle location #2029. So you can also go by that.)
