I am a new author with hopes of gaining an audience. My book is Lotus by Mikaela Lara. It reads like new adult fiction, it does deal with heavy topics, but there is light poetry. Ren, a vibrant young woman troubles through her psyche to rediscover the lost pieces of an unwanted sexual encounter. She has an escapsim mentality which unfortunately always brings her back to Dan Chen her bleak lover. The dizzying nightlife will never be enough for Ren in it she will find the answers she needs while losing and strengthening relationships. The upstairs neighbor, Gustave also faces an inner battle. He mirrors her existence and travels into his subconcious to free himself from imposed ties. He attempts to solve family trauma, and lost love in a world full of infinite possibilities but no reality, the Escher holds the answer.
