Just completed
for New Brunswick. This is the first in the series of Rhys Madoc mysteries. He is a R.C.M.P. detective. I quite enjoyed this book, and will definitely read Charlotte Macleod's next instalment in the series. Here is my review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/.... Now I am on my way to P.E.I. to read Ann of Green Gables, which I haven't read since I was little-a long time ago!
I have finished
for Ontario, and am in Nova Scotia for
.it is now 24+ hours later and I have competed
for Nova Scotia. Here is my review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/edit/... Most of the novel takes place in or relates to Cape Breton. I enjoyed it. I am movingon to P.E.I. to read the first Anne of Green Gables book, that I have not read since I was a child. A long time ago

Janice wrote: "I hope you feel better quickly!"Thank you...better, but still have very watery, itchy eyes.Makes it hard to read! Boo!
My cross Canada challenge has slowed down a bit due to severe spring allergies, a bad cold, and asthma! Hopefully, back on the road this week. You know you are sick when you do not feel like reading.
Janice wrote: "LOL! I thought I had bitten off more than I could chew with 3 big challenges plus the smaller monthly challenges."We shall pull our hair out together!
Janice wrote: "I have (in addition to my spreadsheets) a shelf for each challenge. I can tell you of a couple other groups you might be interested in (little devil on my shoulder). There's You'll Love This One ..."I am so nerdy I created an around the world challenge for myself, before I discovered the group one! I am doing a Road Trip USA one, and a Read the decade challenge- 2 books published in each year between 2013 & 2004, plus the regular GR challenge for the year. Then I added the Canadian one, plus an ABC one. I think I need my head examined! I will take a look at yours! Thanks!
Janice wrote: "Some of us use spread sheets to keep our group reads and challenges organized. I have one with a sheet for each challenge (currently doing 3 big ones). Each sheet has a column that cross referenc..."Yes...but what a great idea! I used to make very detailed long range plans when I was teaching, retired now, so perhaps I will create a similar template. Thanks for sharing!
Janice wrote: "I welcomed you in Connie's thread, but I will welcome you again in this one! I hope you enjoy the challenge."Thank you. I am sure I will. Just have to keep all my books straight for group reads and challenges. That will be a challenge of its own! Haha!
Janice wrote: "I'm so glad you've joined us Laurel. Just hope the two Connie's don't change their avatar. Hehehe!"Me, too! Thanks for putting out the welcome mat. I appreciate it. I think this challenge will be fun. I have to create a spot to keep track of all of the books I have to read for different challenges and group reads. I MUST stop joining groups!
Hi. My name is Laurel, and I live near Toronto, Ontario, in Canada. I am addicted to books, lists, research, and challenges. I am happy to be here and reading some new Canadian material. I belong to several groups on GR. I am looking forward to meeting new folks with common interests.
Connie, you are going to laugh at this. I sent you a fairly long message, which you did not receive because I sent it to the other Connie in this group! The other Connie kindly posted me about my error, and here I am. I have joined this group, and spent most of tonight choosing books and posting them in my list. I decided to do 13 books as my goal, since I am doing other challenges too. I will have to check out your list, since it was the other Connie's that I looked at earlier. But I did make a new friend- the other Connie. Fortunately, I know your profile pic, so won't mix you up again. I hope!

I am going to use the setting as the criteria for choosing my books for this challenge - a book set in Vancouver will serve as my entry for British Columbia. On occasion, I may add a book because the author is from that province or territory. I want to give myself some flexibility.
Janice wrote: "Have you read any of the previous books in the series, Connie? Her books look intriguing but I don't know if I need to start at the beginning."Hi, Connie! So glad you "friended" me. As you can see, I have joined this group, and will do the challenge. What's one more to keep track of? I read Canadian books frequently. I like supporting our own authors, despite the fact that I buy tons of American and British/Scottish/Irish authors as well. I am looking forward to doing this challenge, although I am starting a bit late. I am sure you and I are going to have a great time with this! Your folder/corner/list is amazing. I think I am going to do setting, just like my USA Road Trip.
