721 Suitcase of Dreams (The Girl from Munich #2) by Tania Blanchard

3 stars. I liked the first book but not overly impressed with this one, editing?. I had an Aunt who worked as a supervisor in Migration camps so l already had some knowledge of conditions, very difficult. Most from this time did very well and in time enjoyed their improved lives. My mother's wedding dress was used many times by migrant brides and is now held at Ryde (NSW) Historical Society.

721 The Edge of Lost by Kristina McMorris

4 stars
Learnt a little about vaudeville and even looked up some of the recordings, "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" my mother played the old 78's hard recordings on a wind up gramophone and later my dad belted out the songs of this era on our pianola. They were fabulous days. Advances in technology have made the world smaller but is it any better?

721 The Girl in the Painting by Tea Cooper

5 stars .....but if I was relying on the cover as an enticement it would have been left on the shelf. A picture tells a thousand words and this book is so much more than the cover, disappointing.

721 The L-Shaped Room (Jane Graham, #1) by Lynne Reid Banks

2 stars

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I notice after reading this is set in the 50's which would make Jane about my age now, or older. Still my opinion is the same. The age demographics around this time, girls left home by getting married....I have known many who did just that to get away from controlling fathers. Others went to college and left to make careers aka moi. Stepping out on your own was considered very brave. If only I was an author ......!

Thanks Brenda, actually I did a bit of editing, maybe a bit harsh

721 Stone Country by Nicole Alexander

Took awhile for me to like this read eventually it made it into my heart. Not my usual genre, I always get too involved with the underdog.

721 Thank you to everyone who sent me a Happy Birthday Greetings. My apologies for a late response but I did go away and with a few disasters on my return I've been up to my eyeballs in "it". I did have a nice birthday but as the saying goes "I was in my 20's in the 70's and now I am 70's in the 20's" and don't I feel it. Thanks to all 😊😊😊
