This is only my 4th King book and I'm learning so much about what shaped him and great tips on writing. I'm still trying to write daily to improve my stories.

I'm a theme rebel this month and will read "On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft" by Stephen King.
My creative writing class instructor recommended the book.

I'll read The Stormchasers (Jenna Blum)
for Read by Theme and Booklovers, the book club I created.

I'll read Meji:Book One by Milton J. Davis
. It's the highest rated book on my to-read list. This is the first Davis book that I'll read and I'm looking forward to discovering a new fantasy author who features African characters in his novels.

Thanks for the recommendations.
I recommend Wild Seed by Octavia Butler
is a great speculative fiction book that takes during the 1700'S-1800's in Africa and the U.S. It is one of Butler's best novels and the strongest in the series.
The Black Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop
is a fantasy series that has it all: interesting characters, intricate plots, colorful villians etc.
Silver Sparrow by Tayari Jones
is a story that grabs you with the opening line and doesn't let go. Jones' writing style is smooth in a way that can lead you in one direction but suddenly move the reader in another.

Read by Theme has so many active members that I would love to know what books would you recommend to readers and why.

."Excellent choice Lynn! I attended a Tayari Jones book signing in which she read an excerpt from Silver Sparrow. I couldn't put the book down until I finished it.

For September's theme, I'll read Myrren's Gift by Fiona McIntosh. I've had the Quickening series on my "to read" list for a long time!

I like the idea of creating a Read by Theme shelf and sharing it with the group.

I recommend the following: the 1900's and South/Southwest - Books set in the regions or the author lives/originally from the region.

I love books but now enjoy the ease of turning a page or increasing the text size on my Nook. Let's face it, all of us will need glasses at some point and e-readers help to make all books a "large print" version. I wish that the publishers would convert all books in a series into an e-book at once.

Hi Sandra. I'm reading "The Facebook Effect" which explains the creation of the social network and its impact.

I won "The Facebook effect: The inside story of the company that is connecting the world" as a door prize recently. There is enough blue on the cover for me to read it in July.

Hi I'm Tara and I'm a new member. I belong to Booklovers, a tradational book club but wanted to join an online club. My favorite genres are fantasy, sci fi, romance, nonfiction and mystery. Read by Theme will definitely fit my interests.
