Ooh these are awesome titles to add to my list.
This is terrible! I did not realize the book titles I would be adding to my already long list when I took over this group for the Summer! Don't worry, I'm very glad I did 😁

Honestly, I agree with you on that! I don't know the librarian who chose that book but they were not thinking about everyone! 😂

69983 Thanks for coming back! We are going into being kind to ourselves this week. Honestly, it is hard as we have soo much to do. Whether you are busy with work, taking care of your kids / elderly family members, we deserve to have time for ourselves! You should go into a room and do something for yourself like watching an episode of that series on your watchlist, read that book you’ve been eyeing (finishing up a book), or go on a walk.

😂😂 Honestly, there are times when you gotta read what contradicts each week!

69983 I believe in you, Susan! You can do it! When in doubt, jump around.
Disclaimer: do not listen to this Librarian 😂😂
I love to read manga, and I am currently reading the Demon Slayer series. The anime is amazing!

Here’s me! I’m Hannah, the North Albany branch’s Librarian. I have three kids: Major Cuteness, Lt Mittz, and Smokey the Bandit (yes, they are all cats!). As I like to say, I’m a cat lady in progress. I love chocolate chip cookies.
Hi! I’m Elise, the new Library Assistant of North Albany. My fur babies are Ochaco the tiny Shiba and Pika the choncky Bombay. I love reading and writing all things fantasy, although my wip graveyard is almost as crowded as my tbr pile.🙃 I’ve been a barista and a bookseller before finding my way into the library (thanks again for having me, everyone!). My favorite food is daifuku mochi.

We are kicking off this week with our theme All Together Now. Behind this theme, we thought about what activities you would enjoy with your family, friends, or spark ideas for your community. We also have some books about why it’s important to connect with others.

In case, you were wondering. There are many forms of books, let it be physical books, audiobooks, and e-books! Libby and Hoopla are great sources for electronic access!

I’m currently reading through How Not to Kill Your Houseplant. Because, I do! I don't know what it is, but I’m killing any plants I place in my house! Thus far, I enjoy how the book is simple and straightforward with information about the different plants and what is suitable for me in my small apartment. It’s all about trying!
69983 Mirkat wrote: "I still haven't received the t-shirt from last year's challenge, which I completed!"

Woah! I unfortunately don't know what happened there, Mirkat. The ball must have dropped there. I would give you one, but I believe we are out of them.
Have no fear! We will make sure this year, you will get your shirt!
69983 Get your reading selves ready for the summer!

Welcome to anyone who is starting with us this summer! Goodreads veterans, welcome back!

A little how does this work for our new members:
Starting the week of June 26th, we will have 8 weeks of summer reading where each week has a different theme and title recommendations.
Everyone is open to talk about book titles and making their own recommendations.
Having fun and making new book friends along the way!

Summer Reading Challenge is from Friday, June 23rd to Friday, August 25th. The challenge is reading 10 books or 1,500 pages. The prizes are a t-shirt AND a Stewart’s Ice Cream Coupon!

Once you complete your challenge, we ask that you send the following information to our email, albanyreads@albanypubliclibrary.org:
First and last name (so staff can verify it’s you!)
Library Branch to pick up your shirt

Please do not feel obligated to remember all this information. Who has the brain cells for that? Oh, yeah, me! Because it is my job, haha! We will have reminders in the discussions as we are reaching the end of the challenge.

We will see you all here again on the 26th!

May the Summer Reading Challenge be ever in your favor!
