I only know there's not enough humor in politics and if there was more humor and less in the way of vindictiveness, politicians might be able to work together and accomplish more. What you can do to make an impact is to spread the word about Nitt Witt Hill. If it becomes a huge best seller, perhaps more politicians will read it and then, who knows. Maybe they'll learn to laugh at themselves and get along with each other and accomplish what voters expect of them - to help make people's lives a little better and make this an even better country.

By then, I also had decided to weave Mark Twain and some of his quotes into the novel and then finally, over a couple more months, I probably went through the book a hundred times making little changes and improvements, and kept it up to date with what was happening in politics.
Hi Natalie,To begin with, I'm a news junkie. Then I began writing funny articles for newspapers, similar to the style of my book in which I show the absurdities of politics. From there, the book was born.
I really wasn't inspired by any other authors for this book. I read mostly thrillers and mysteries, a book almost every night, as I speed read. But I also loved the Harry Potter books, more recently the Hunger Games, and over the years Robert Parker's books (which have a lot of humor in them) and James Clavell's early books like Tai Pan.
There really aren't any other political humor novels out there that I've found or read, so it was mostly the news that inspired me to make it more humorous for people and to give them something to cause them to laugh and think as well.

Hi Laura,I'm currently at work on the sequel and plan to make it the second in a series of four books. Thanks again for your interest.

Pure imagination. I've been around a lot of dogs in my life, but Twain is a completely fictional character, as is Mark. The clowns, turkeys and Nitt Witts just seemed like very funny names to use, and when I began writing for them as political parties, it all just came together perfectly.
Long form, writing books is more enjoyable, but I still have a lot of fun using Twitter, and Twitter is a great way to market yourself and your book to others.
