I have a rather mixed background with the confluence of many factors influencing my writing and thought patterns.

Writing:
As a child in London, UK, I was introduced to books such as Oliver Twist, The Hobbit, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. All were brilliantly told stories, but of-course, at that age I didn't understand what made those books so beautiful. That was until I re-read them for study purposes about 20 years ago. This is when I began to really appreciate the use of words, rhythm, and punctuation. Dickens was a master of this in my opinion. I also studied modern short essays in Time International magazine. I was particularly amazed by the succinct sentences crafted by authors there. Charles Krauthammer was a favorite, although I may not have always agreed with his views.

Research:
Ironically, I began my work on science and spirituality as a highly opinionated skeptic. I didn't believe there could be an explicit convergence between science and spirituality. This was not because I didn't believe in spirituality or science, but because I believed that descriptions in ancient Yoga literature and the Bible were so exotic and incomprehensible, they must all transcend science. Science and spirituality would always be on a different page. How mistaken I was!

To date, I have discovered over 200 convergences of ancient spirituality and modern science. About 100 of these are published in my new book: "God Is Real: The Stunning New Convergence of Science and Spirituality." Much of my work has been published in mainstream science journals or approved by leading cosmologists.

As such, the new convergences are approved by scientists and constitute a game-changer in the Science vs. Religion/Spirituality debate. The two do not collide, but converge.

In 1987, while I lived as a monk at an ashram seminary in India, I read a fascinating article about underwater volcanoes and hot springs called ‘hydrothermal vents’ deep within the world’s oceans. The piece had appeared in an international U.S.-based magazine that had somehow found its way to the isolated ashram.

Here, right before my eyes, was the first definitive evidence of a convergence between science and spirituality!

“How?” You may ask. Well, like science, ancient Yoga Literature also describes great fires deep within the world’s oceans. They are called "Vadavanala Agni." The surprising thing is that these descriptions are thousands of years old whereas science made the discovery relatively recently.

But here’s the really surprising part. The ancient Yogis said the submarine fire drinks the sea’s briny water. It then removes salt from the water and expels it back into the ocean. Does science agree?

I took the article to another monk, a physicist and friend. He was intrigued by it and we decided to write to its author. “We think our ancient literature bears parallels to the modern discovery of hydrothermal vents. Is water emerging from these vents depleted of its salt content?”

We received a rather curt reply to this effect: “There is no correspondence between your spiritual literature and modern science.”

That ended the matter for my friend, but I was skeptical, even suspicious of this response.

Several years passed and, in 1991, I graduated from my studies and yoga training. Now I had time to visit science institutes and consult directly with experts. Thumbing through numerous science journals and textbooks, I compared them with my studies of the "Vadavanala Agni," the salt-removing submarine fire described by the ancient Yogis. Little did I realize this research would take me from the bottom of Earth’s oceans to the ends of the cosmos, and from the beginnings of time to the dissolution of our universe trillions of eons in the future!

Now, I bring these convergences before you. In my 30 years of study, I’ve dedicated the last 10 years specifically to the oceanography and cosmology of the ancient Yogis. It turns out that the descriptions of the submarine fire converge with science on 20 counts! And yes, water expelled from hydrothermal vents is depleted of its salt!

In Short:

My research spanning a decade suggests the length of a day in Biblical Genesis is an eon long.

I have even been able to derive the exact length of the eon.

It is appears to be 2.3 billion years long.

Can this be tested? Yes!

Result: It derives the correct age of our Sun = 4.6 billion years old!

Take a look.

Science says:

1. Age of Universe = 13.8 billion years old

Bible says:

2. Age of Universe = 6 Days [Eons] old. (God rested on Day 7)

Therefore each Eon = 13.8 billion / 6 = 2.3 billion years long

Science also says:

3. Sun was created 4.6 billion years ago

Bible says:

4. Sun was created by end of Day [Eon] 4.

We are in Day [Eon] 7.

Therefore our Sun was created 2 Days [Eons] ago = 2.3 billion x 2 = 4.6 billion years ago!

This is precisely the same age as modern science.

I believe this is a beyond chance phenomenon. Why? Because this age of the Sun can be rendered by Genesis only if out of the infinite range of "wrong" ages for the universe, the correct age of 13.8 billion is used. Nothing substantially less or more than this age will render the correct age for the Sun.

In other words, Genesis describes two enormously improbable coincidences: the correct age of the Sun and of the universe.

Additionally, when the scientific timeline of 13.8 billion years is calibrated into 6 equal days – each spanning 2.3 billion years – the sequence of each phase in Genesis and its timeline across all 7 Days corresponds with major past and future episodes of our universe, Galaxy, and Earth.

This is too much to be a coincidence.

The puzzle of Genesis seems finally resolved!

How did all this genuine knowledge of the Sun, our world, and universe appear in scripture thousands of years old?

I believe it was through the power of prayer, meditation, and spiritual revelation.

The Biblical legend of the global flood and worldwide extinction seems to contradict science. But yoga describes a similar legend but has so many accurate details about the global extinction of life that it sheds new light on the truth of Genesis in the Bible. Yoga texts say the worldwide extinction of life and global flooding occurred after huge volcanic activity in the oceans and on land millions of years ago. The yogis gave a very accurate timeframe, too. They said all this occurred between 420 million - 120 million years ago.

Science agrees! 251 million years ago, life on earth nearly died, says science. It's called the end-permian extinction, the most catastrophic of all. It was preceded by huge volcanic activity and followed by continental flooding.

In Short:

Ancient Yoga texts (and the Bible in brief) contain detailed descriptions of worldwide continental flooding and a worldwide extinction that connects closely to the 'Permian-Triassic' Extinction known to science and even its timeline in millions of years.

Science says:

1. Permian-Triassic extinction nearly wiped out all life on Earth.
2. It was related to volcanism and followed by continental flooding.
3. The extinction occurred about 250 million years ago.
4. Some life forms survived that repopulated earth thereafter.

Ancient Yoga texts similarly say:

1. A worldwide extinction nearly wiped out all life on Earth.
2. It was related to volcanism and followed by continental flooding.
3. The extinction occurred sometime between 420-120 million years ago.
4. Some life forms were preserved in an 'ark' to repopulate earth thereafter.

Bible similarly says:

1. A worldwide extinction nearly wiped out all life on Earth.
2. It was related to a great flood.
3. Some life forms were preserved in an 'ark' to repopulate earth thereafter.

The description in the Bible is brief.

But the description given by ancient Yogis fills in many gaps and converges closely with modern discoveries. The Yogis gave not only the correct environment of the Earth around the worldwide extinction of the end-Permian (volcanism and worldwide flooding), but also the correct timeframe (between 420-120 million years ago).

I believe this is a beyond chance description, because there are an infinite range of causes of a worldwide extinction which can be dreamt up through sheer fantasy - e.g. lizards from Mars or ghosts and goblins - and there is an infinite range of wrong timeframes, too - 81 trillion years ago, 8,000 years ago, 76,000 years ago, 27.8 billion gazillion years ago - you get the point.

But the ancient Yogis didn't say this. They gave volcanism and continental flooding between 420-120 million years ago!

This is in brief. The Yogis gave in total 20 descriptions of the worldwide extinction that converge with the Permian-Triassic extinction discovered by modern science.

The puzzle of the Great Flood and Extinction in Genesis appears to be solved!

How did this valid knowledge of the Permian-Triassic extinction appear in scripture - the Bible and Yoga Literature - that are thousands of years old?

I believe it through the power of prayer, meditation, and spirituality.

There are more correspondences with ancient Yoga texts, the Bible, and science.

Many of these have been published mainstream scientific journals. They are a game-changer. Reputed cosmologists have lauded these discoveries.

THEY CONCERN 3 IMPORTANT SUBJECTS:

1. Astounding descriptions of deep-sea hydrothermal vents discovered in ancient Yoga texts that connect exactly with their modern discovery in 1977. Scientists were so astounded, they published these connections. Please see my videos on Hydrothermal Vents.

2. Each day of Genesis is an Eon 2.3 billion years long. This is testable and derives the correct age of the sun and universe simultaneously. By chance? Not likely. Please see my videos on Genesis.

3. Ancient Yogis described our Universe and the Big Bang in detail. Yogis described this is astounding detail. How did they know our entire universe emerged from a tiny point, when Plato could not think of it? That it shone forth vehemently like a flash of lightning, when Aristotle could not think of it? That particles of gas appeared within a second, when Einstein could not think of it? (Workshop 3) That primordial matter resembles a vine spread across the whole of space, when Hubble could not think of it? That worlds evolved on it, when Eddington could not think of it?
