Thanks for that great feedback. I've had a few people now say that they plan on reading it again ... it's a nice thing to hear. There are definitely a lot of details woven into the plot that can easily pass by. I'm glad you liked it. RE: the torture scenes. I used those scenes as a way to further describe my symptoms without the book being entirely about me. By creating a fictional plot, I was able to spread a lot of my story across multiple characters. The scene with Silberman experiencing the cold chills under the blanket, rubbing his legs together to generate warmth to relax, running his freezing feet under hot water, etc. These were all things that I would experience on a daily basis. If you didn't already, you might want to read the Author's Note at the beginning.
Hi Tracy, I am curious about your thoughts on the book since your brother used to work as a surgeon. Were the scenes with the doctors difficult to read? After I read your first note, which is a great story, I wasn't sure if the torture scenes would hit too close to home. Which twists and turns took you by surprise and which were easy to see coming?
Hi Tracy, Thank you for the five star review! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. In case everyone who has joined this discussion may not have read the book, I'm adding a new topic where people can freely discuss the book without worrying about including 'spoilers'. I realize that it's a difficult book to discuss without bringing up certain scenes. Link: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/8...
Hi Tracy, I'm glad you are enjoying it. Things are about to get pretty exciting in Chpt 13 ... "lucky 13" :o) Great story about your brother. I hear of more and more doctors who are following his path. Check out the following website to see pictures of locations in Prague described in the book. This is part of a self-guided tour + map I created for readers who plan on traveling to Prague.

After reading The God Complex, what do you think about acupuncture? Had you tried it before reading the book? If not, did the story peak your interest in trying acupuncture? Describe some of the things you might have learned about acupuncture. Here's a recent article I authored on acupuncture:

Tell the group your thoughts about Prague after reading the book. Are you interested in visiting the "city of a hundred spires"? Did you know there is a free self-guided tour of Prague based upon the book? It comes with a map that you can download and take with you on your trip to the "golden city".
