Giveaways/Promotions Folder Rules:-Giveaways and promotions can be hosted by anyone here in this folder, all you have to do is create a new thread!
-This is not the location to just talk about your book/blog, it is for promotion (you are hosting a giveaway or a book is on sale).
-Add any links necessary.
-Put the end date of your giveaway/promotion IN THE TOPIC TITLE.
-Remember to delete old giveaway or promotions so that it does not clutter the folder.
-NO DUPLICATES

Author Area Rules:If you're an author, here's the place to let us know what you've written, what you're currently working on, upcoming new releases, etc...
-Any author can create a thread for themselves in this folder.

-This is not a discussion about the book, it is a platform to plug your work for readers to see.

Authors, after reading the rules, fill out the Google Form at the bottom to be considered for our author feature. What the Author Feature Means:
• Mods will create a thread showcasing the author’s book/series of choice.
• To make it more fun and personal the author will also be able to answer questions posed by the mods for the group to see! Author Q’s are divided into two sections: Get to Know You questions, and Book Related questions! (The Moderators of Addicted to YA have the right to moderate any answers deemed inappropriate at their discretion)
• Included is the author bio, book blurb, book links/images/book trailer, and Author’s Goodreads profile link.
• Groups members will be able to interact with the author on this thread if they so choose.
Rules:
1. This is for any Addicted to YA member who wants to share their novel or short story.
2. We will check to make sure you are an active member of our group and not just using our group solely for promotional reasons.
3. Only authors who have adhered to our group's rules (both Group Rules and our Author Rules) will be eligible to be featured.
4. Authors can only be featured once.
5. Authors may do a giveaway in conjunction with the feature, but it isn't required and the author is responsible for sending the prize to the winner.
6. If we have author submissions, we are aiming to do this feature every other month, at the beginning of the month.

For Readers:
Participatory comments/questions for the author is how you participate- we love actively engaging our Featured Authors so ask away!
How to Participate if there is a Giveaway
In each giveaway, there's a section to drop a link to your comment. This is your giveaway entry!
The easiest way for us mods to verify the comment as a genuine Addicted to YA member is if the link submitted to the giveaway is a direct link to your comment, but a link to the Author Feature thread and your Goodreads Username so we know which one is you is also acceptable!
You can find your direct comment link by right clicking on the time stamp on your comment. For example, I would click on "October 25, 2023 11:02PM" next to my original comment to send that to someone!
Author Policy- Please do not join the group to only advertise your books.
- Keep self promotion to the Author Area. Do not spam other topics by talking about your book.
- Do not make multiple topics about your book in the Author folder or anywhere else in the group.
- If you have multiple books/series keep it all in one topic.
- Your own book can't be suggested for the BOTM.
- Do not make fake accounts to suggest your book for the BOTM.
- Do not ask any of the moderators to add your book to the group bookshelf, BOTM, or ask them to make topics about your book.
- We do not do read for review type things.
-Authors found violating any one of these rules will be warned once. Second offenders will be removed.
-Authors should also review Goodreads Author Guidelines
Group Giveaway Policy
- At least 2 weeks notice must be given before the start of the giveaway.
- State whether the giveaway is for an ebook or a print book.
- State whether the giveaway is international, U.S. only, U.S. and Canada only, etc.
- Winners are selected randomly by the Moderators.
- Moderators have the right to decline giveaways.
- Do not ask for multiple giveaways within 6 months from the previous time you asked, even if you did not get to have a giveaway.
Q&A Policy
- At least 2 weeks notice must be given before the start of the Q&A.
- Must be on a weekend. Can be both on Saturday and Sunday or one of those days.
- Moderators have the right to decline Q&As.
- Do not ask for multiple Q&As within 6 months from the previous time you asked, even if you did not get to have a Q&A.

The only reason I am able to "read" as many books as I do is because of Audiobooks. They allow me to get through books while I'm doing other things like driving, cooking, working out etc. They are my go to! 🎧 🫶🏼
This will eventually be added to the Tips & Tricks but for now here is the info. This is super important to do when suggesting books for the monthly reads to see if the groups has already read it.
To check if a book is shelved in our group or not, navigate to the group Bookshelf. From there, search for the book's title in the dedicated search bar.
If the book is on our shelf, it will be lighter than the others almost dimmed.
This means it's on the group bookshelf and has been read by the group.
