62046 You've all waited a long time for this(I hope and am sorry)! First, I'm sorry that I was behind schedule posting them, and two, HERE THEY ARE!!!

By Melonie: 1.)When creating and shaping the characters in her stories does she draw inspiration from people in her life, like close friends, family or maybe acquaintances? Or are they truly an individual of their own that has their own quirks and traits that come out as the story progresses? Or a combination of both?

The characters are totally made up, although some of them reminded me of people I knew in the early books. As I continued to write, the characters personal characteristics and ticks progress and deepen as the story unfolds. An example: Eric still has dark undercurrents in Valefar, which pre-dates Demon Kissed. In that book, he’s a Martis, but that darkness is still a part of him that comes to the surface later in the series.

2.)When did she know she wanted to be a writer and what were her first steps in pursuing her dreams? Also does she have any advice for aspiring authors?

I’ve always loved writing. I wanted to be an artist and writer fits into that slot in my head. I get to form my stories and make beautiful art that goes with them. That alone makes this an awesome job. Advice for aspiring writers: The world is changing. There is little merit at this point of doing things the traditional way. I think that is wonderful news for writers. The gatekeepers control what is published and what we read. The shift in the publishing paradigm allows for you to write what you want. It’s freedom of speech and expression. It’s wonderful. Make sure you check out Konrath’s blog if you want to be a writer.

3.)We are usualy happy to see bad guys get killed off or disappear, but not so much when it happens to the good guys, even when it helps shape the story and make it better. How does it make you feel to kill off the good characters that everyone loves?

It’s difficult to kill off a major character that people love. Striking them from the storyline needs to have a purpose. Example: In Sister Al dying, it removed a key player from Ivy’s life, but it also allowed her to see that Al knew her path and stuck to it. Al was aware of her fate, and lived courageously, doing what she thought was right, until the end. She didn’t abandon Ivy or Eric, even though they both had darkness in their hearts. People like Al are rare, shining examples that should be in books.

4.)What were her expectations when she began writing this series? What are her expectations for her new series?

I always knew that the end of the story was the fulfillment of the prophecy. I didn’t want Demon Kissed to cheese out and have rainbows and puppies at the end. Okay, I cheesed out a little bit (clears throat) but my editor said the dragon puppy was awesome, so I left it. Lol. I’m starting the VAMPIRE APCALPSYE series, which is my next major series. When I start I create the overall story arc and primary characters. Then I decide where I want it to end up. This next series will be equally intense, steamy, and twisty—but it won’t get so dark. It’ll be a fun read with evocative themes, and more characters to love.

5.) Both of her series are going to be completely different... How did she come up with such different concepts?

They are different and that’s because I write about what I like. If it’s something that captured my attention, I write about it. However, everything I write has striking similarities, no matter what it might look like on the surface. All of my stories have a dark undercurrent (or tidal wave), twisting plot lines, and slightly insane characters.
TWISTED TALES is uber dark with a creepy ending no one saw coming. BANE will be twisty but lighter. It offers a balance of characters who are good, bad, funny, and crazy.

And I have a new, secret series that’s coming out soon. I gave this group the exclusive reveal. That series is SO different in some aspects!

The new book I’m working on is a choose-your-own-survival-story. The first book in this new series is during a zombie apocalypse. You are the character in the story, and you are given choices to make as the story progresses. Examples are like which weapon to use or where to run. Making the correct choice will lengthen your story, and choosing wrong will lead to zombies snacking on your brains. It’s a twisting story that has the humor of my old blog posts (tape, bunny, kitty, check!). So it’s paranormal, a little dark, and a smidgen funny.

The temporary title is HOW WILL YOU SURVIVE THE ZOMBIE APACALPYSE? (A CHOOSE YOUR OWN SURVIVAL STORY—Book #1). This will be released in ebook format only and can be read on kindle, nook, or your PC.

Congratulations to Melonie who came first place! She will be receiving a signed Demon Kissed Bookplate for her own copy of Demon Kissed!!!

62046 Roleplay is where you make a character, charrie for short, and use her.
You know how you sometimes want to be in the book you're reading? Roleplay lets you do that. You get to Roleplay your character in an adventure of your own.

We get to make our own plot line, talk to Ivy and more.

Questions? Post below.
