This is a general thread about any writing-related fancies that may cross our minds. (And what isn't writing-related?) Do you love words? Do you have any good stories about them? Let's talk about our dictionaries, inspiring ideas we've come across, things we've seen in the course of a day that have made our writerly/readerly ears perk up, new words that have jumped out at us and followed us home . . . you know, that sort of thing!

I would say the three writers who had the greatest influence on me in my formative years were J.R.R. Tolkien, Richard Adams (
Watership Down), and H.P. Lovecraft. Later many others came along, but those were the first big three. Let's talk about these awesome guys and their stuff!

If you have any questions or comments about
Dragonfly, this is the place!

It would be fun for us to talk about the writing process (and not just mine). Feel free to ask me questions, but if you're a writer, I'd like to hear about yours, too!

Welcome to this discussion group! I would encourage anyone joining us to introduce yourself and feel free to talk about your relationship to books and writing. Are you a reader, a reader/writer, or what?
