The 9th. He was the perfect bridge between classic Dr. Who and current Dr. Who. He was enigmatic, at times emotional, but he embodied the soul of the outsider, and the Doctor is eternally the outsider. Every Doctor is an interpretation, and I like them all, but none more than Chris Eccleston as the glorious 9th.
The Empty Child. It was one of the darkest episodes I've ever watched, a Chris Eccleson as the 9th, added an earnest seriousness that other Doctors couldn't pull off. The mix of history, sci-fi which never seemed over the top because it was grounded in 1940s Britain, and the introduction of Captain Jack Harkness make for memorable episode.
Well, Jack I'm probably someone you'd like to know a lot better, but before it cums to that...let's just be friends.
