There's nothing to be impressed about - I'm living in Germany. I spent most of my life here - even if I was born in Poland and knew only two words before my parents decided to move to Germany I speak now much better German than Polish. I'm not even sure if my English isn't even better than my Polish so I decided for this year to read at least one book in Polish per month (original or translation - don't mind either) but I'm awfully behind with 2 finished and 2 other started I really have to read some more of those if I want to come anything near my goal until the end of the year ;-)

I just have all these freebies and most of them are much more fun :-)

58421 Since Sunday I read about 50 percent of Die Bücherdiebin by Markus Zusak = The Book Thief by Markus Zusak . On one side I'm impressed and very glad I read the book - on the other hand there were times I was struggling with the book. I fear I'll need some more time to decide on my rating. (I think I read about 250-300 pages - perhaps more)

Her Final Breath (Tracy Crosswhite, #2) by Robert Dugoni I loved it and already looking forward to the next books in the series :-) (426 pages)

Tödliche Unschuld (In Death, #15) by J.D. Robb = Purity in Death (In Death, #15) by J.D. Robb I liked it pretty much. Not as much as some of the previous in the series but enough to stick to the series. (481 pages)

Red Moon Rising Rediscover the Power of Prayer (Red Moon Chronicles) by Pete Greig don't believe it I already finished it. I loved it. (225 pages this week)

Tank (Blue-Collar Billionaires, #1) by M. Malone another one off my huge TBR :-) (250 pages)

The Common Core Guide to Housekeeping by Chloe Garfield yeah wouldn't miss anything if I left it out :-) (16 pages)

An Actor's Life - A Short Story by Duncan Whitehead it was an interesting shor story though I wasn't able to get the comedy element. (24 pages)

I Know Lucy (A Fugitive #1) by Melissa Pearl - read yesterday only around 70 pages - I like it so far :-)

This week I read between 1,640 and 1,690 pages (perhaps more - not sure about the fist one)

finished 2 books
read 3 novels and 2 short-story-length books
started another one
58421 I got the German editon from library and started it yesterday. The first 20 pages I struggled little bit, but now I'm loving it pretty much. since I realised the library e-books have different page counts than most of the original book/e-book references and this one has no chapter numbers its really hard to tell where I am for a reference but I read about 15% into the book.

I hope the stupid migraine will leave soon so I can read faster and more again!

58421 I finished the re-read on Saturday.

What does everyone think of the literature style? What are your top three phrases to describe them?
1. Great start - very law middle part and grandios last third
2. Balanced cast of secondary characters (those I like and would love to shoot)
3. Still a feel good book - and each time worth to endure the dragging parts ;-)

Favorite characters other than Elisabth and / or Mr. Darcy!
Really difficult. Most likely Mrs. Gardiner. She was the most sensible one :-)

Least favorite characters: Mr. Collins, Lady Catherine and Miss Bingley. I really wished it would be possible to send someone into the book and shoot these. Each time I read the book I dislike those more and more grrrrr.

58421 You're welcome.

It seems it's nothing really new to publish trilogies or serial novels.
Sense and Sensibility was originally published in three volumes as well as The Count of Monte Cristo and some other (Polish) Classics I read or wanted to read until I realised I'm absolutely not able to understand the old Polish and gave up after some pages ;-)

Emily, as soon as I read your comment I checked my edition and the chapters. Just in case you want to check - Fist sentence in chapter 30: Sir William stayed only a week at Hunsford, but his visit was long enough to convince him of his daughter's being most comfortably settled, and of her possessing such a husband and such a neighbour as were not often met with.
58421 I'm still reading Sense and Sensibility and hope to finish it until the end of this week (with the other library book I'm reading right now). Since I read the book twice already it's not that important when I start it. I decided to read it because of the notes in my edition: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen . If they are similar to Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen I don't expect much anymore :-(

While posting my review in the other thread earlier I read over it and remembered the first half is not so great - but if you manage to stay until the second half it get's great. That's why I decided to re-read it. One year is pretty long time - and I look always for a reason to come back to some of the books ;-)

From your books it looks like you are mostly into pretty heavy stuff. Have you tried to check out if it's time for a genre change. It was a big help for me a few years ago. Before I went into a deep depression I read almost only historical fiction. Than there was a period of almost two years I wasn't able to read at all. After that I just tried to read conemporary and since than I cannot stop anymore and read more and more each year.

In case you want to stay with you genres, see if you like books by David M. Staniforth. He writes psychological thrilers and fantasy and people love his fantasy stuff - since I'm not into that kind of books I cannot say much about but almost all of my friend from the good thriller group (he's a member there too) rave about his books, as well as the Helen Grace series starting with Eeny Meeny and Smoky Barrett Series starting with Shadow Man; something similar to Steven King: Deadly Messengers

Some recommendation I got this week (other genres - very good reviews):
The Illegal Gardener contemporary fiction, drama, romance set in Greece
Contact sci-fi (was made into a movie - I think with Jodie Foster)
The Fault in Our Stars great YA-drama - I loved it very much
Guillaume Musso a pretty new author to me - but I loved his book I got from library very much. According from the reviews I read after I finished my audiobook common for most of his books is 1) they are usually genre-mix tending towards chick-lit/suspense/drama/romance 2) expect the unexpected or it's seldom as it seems.

Especially since I 'discovered' RS and erotica I read really much more. If you are interested in any of those just PM me and I think of some books I know most of my friends love.

I hope there are not too many mistakes and you can understand what I mean - I'm just pretty tired - but didn't want to wait with this message until Monday :-)
