I'm giving away 2 autographed paperback copies of my book through GR giveaways! Here is the link if anyone's interested. :)

I just wanted to let everyone know that Caged in Darkness will be available in paperback, but it was delayed. I will post here when it's available. :)
Kayla wrote: "vampires... I'm obsessed with them... and shapeshifters, love them as well. :D I'm already writing one based on Death which I'm reworking. But yeah, vampires, shapeshifters and Death. ^^"lol Death is in my first two series! lol

We all have our preferences when it comes to the characters in books we read. What are yours?
I prefer a tortured soul. Someone who had had a horrible past but transcends it. I have a tendency to prefer guys who are either the "underdog" or the "bad boy." I like strong women with a backbone.

If you were writing a book, what would you write about?

The writing technique is a little different from the book, but I think it works. I'm debating about writing more for my blog, but I'm not sure which character to write a short story about next. lol

I was talking to a close friend about the aspects of books that bother us. For instance: My friend hates cliche's. I am usually disappointed if the book doesn't surprise me.
So, as a warning to me... What do you hope I never do in my books? lol

The funny thing is that I like Caged in Spirit the most because of the panther. However, if I were skimming through books... I think I would be most likely to look at the synopsis for the other three. lol

Welcome! :)

Mawgojzeta wrote: "I do have this on my to-read list. A major deal (for me) as I do not care so much for reading books online. But, I really want to read this!!!
I have no expectations other than knowing the story..."It's a fast read. So far, I've gotten great feedback. You can get it in any format. If you want to read it on your computer, get it through smashwords. They have it available in multiple formats to use on your PC. OR you can buy it through Goodreads and use the goodreads reader app on your computer. Personally, I prefer Smashwords though. ;) In September, it will be available in paperback through Amazon. However, it is WAY cheaper in ebook format. Plus, the way Amazon has the paperback set up... I personally think that they charge too much. lol I refuse to charge my readers an arm and a leg, so I make the paperbook as cheap as possible, which means I only get 4 cents in royalties per book. lol
Rhiannon wrote: "2 people can still be epic. :-)"True. Book 3 is crazy though! lol I can't wait for everyone to read it! My husband thinks I should split it into two parts... However, I'm reluctant to do that since I get irritated with other authors who do that. lol I mean, you look forward to the last book in the series and then the author announces "Hey, I'm going to make it into two parts. Now, you have even longer to wait!" Ugh! I just can't do that to my readers. lol

I'm Brittney V. I love to read but have little time to do so since I joined the Army in 2008. I am deploying to Afghanistan and the when I return I will be done with my contract. I'm not in ..."Wow, that would be scary to be in the army. I know some people whose husbands are in the army and Navy. Smashwords has a program for people in the service. Since it's difficult for people in the service to get books, authors can join a program where those in the service get their books for free. You should check it out! I have to look for the link again, but I'm going to join it so that people in the service get mine for free. I feel like being in the service is hard enough without having to worry about paying for books. ;)

Caged in Spirit was the one I fell in love with immediately! Regina surprised me with it. I had sent her the information for the cover and it inspired her. She started the manipulation without being sure it would be for my cover. Then I saw it and was like "WOW, I want it, Please!!!!" lol

:) Hi everyone! Thanks for joining and please create some threads. :)
Rhiannon wrote: "I think that it also makes the storyline feel more... immersive, epic. you can create a larger storyline that way as well. good choice.":) Thanks! I do it with Caged by Damnation too, but it's only with 2 characters.

It was a couple of things actually. I choose a black panther because they are sleek and exotic. Panthers are one of my favorite animals! The comfort that he brings... is definitely inspired by my love for animals. My cats are the first to sense when something is wrong. A while back, my hand got sliced open. Sienna (youngest cat) was so worried. I had never seen her like that, but for the next week she followed me around everywhere. :)
Stacy wrote: "JD. - I do this in my series - My Blood Runs Blue. Book 1 actually plays out through 3 different people. Each Chapter is entitled with the name of the person whose head you are in. Book 2 - Blue ..."lol I thought it would be interesting to get more POV's. So far, everyone seems to like that I did it with Caged in Darkness. :)

I keep a handwritten journal for research. I have one for each series. :)
