Would you be up for a beta-read swap of the first 2-3 chapters? I just posted on this forum for such beta readers. Just message me if you are interested."

Hi Scott,

I'm interested in a partial swap, but it looks like you're not open for messages. I sent a request to you, so hopefully we can get in contact after that. Thanks!

50920 Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some feedback on my completed story. Whatever you can read and whatever you have to say would be very helpful! Also open to some swaps if you have something you want eyes on.

Feel free to leave a comment or send me a message if you would be interested. Thanks in advance!

Mikoto Jinguji is one of the few immortal magi living amongst humans. Despite her apathy towards romance, she runs a successful business matching people to their soulmates with a swab of their sweat and her trademarked potions. Publicly, Mikoto promises happiness with soulmates; in private, she fudges results and lets people buy the matches they want. As long as clients don’t hassle her, Mikoto has no qualms (well, except when she has to deal with paperwork or bureaucracy).

The soulmate business is a front for her true goal. She’s looking for something, and Kendall, her newly-hired assistant, might hold the key. But Kendall has his own plans he needs Mikoto for, so he offers a deal: use him as she wants, if she’ll help him.

It’s an easy decision for Mikoto, until she learns Kendall’s reason behind the deal. For the first time in her life, Mikoto is faced with guilt over the harm her seemingly innocuous business has caused. She wonders if she’s taken things too far, but after dedicating centuries to her goal, she’s not sure giving it up is an option anymore.
50920 Hi Meilin,

I’m interested in a swap if that’s still available. I have a 75k adult contemporary fantasy, so I’d love to exchange first chapters if you’re interested too. Please send me a message to let me know. Thanks!

50920 Hi everyone,

New to the group and goodreads, but hopefully I'm doing this correctly. I'd love some feedback on my completed story. Whatever you can read and whatever you have to say would be very helpful! Also open to a swap if you have something you want eyes on. Thanks in advance!

Yoko Ikemori, a Japanese-American college student, is used to being the only non-white person in a room. Then she walks down a staircase at a museum, and enters a new world that resembles a medieval English village, where she truly becomes the only one. Her dark hair and eyes stand in stark contrast with the white faces surrounding her.

Because of her unfamiliar features, the villagers label Yoko a witch and try to burn her alive. Yoko manages to escape the burning, but she’s still trapped in a world that will never accept someone who doesn’t belong.

While she struggles to find a way home, Yoko meets Henry, the young fisherman of the village. Unlike her, Henry looks like he belongs, but unbeknownst to everyone, he hides a monster within him. For the sake of the villagers and himself, Henry has always chosen to keep a distance from others.

Then he meets Yoko, who’s as alone as he is. Henry’s drawn to her, as she might be the only one in his insular village to understand what it’s like to be different.

But Yoko doesn’t want to stay. She only survives so she can go home, back to her family and the place where she’s not the only one. If she can’t, what reason does she have to live in a world that only sees her as a monster?
