if not 3, you could film it in various stages - so much happens within the book.
I'm going to have to read them all again, I'd forgotten how much I love Ann Rice.

so agree with you there Michael - I love Anne Rice's books and they ruin them by making shit films. I thought Blood and Gold would make a great film but it would be mega long.

I found watching the movie made no difference to my enjoyment of the books. Though Interview with a Vampire is a far better film than Queen of the Damned - Stuart Townsend wasn't a very good Lestat.

They just don't appeal to me, I think going to Catholic schools, thought my eduction(until I went to Uni) but me off reading anything religious, whether it be fiction or non-fiction. I kinda of hope one day she'll go back to writing about Lestat and the others, she basically left them hanging, even if all she does is draw a line under them all, destorys them all or whatever. It would be nice to know that there was some sort of ending or maybe thats just me!!!!

I enjoyed reading this book - I especially loved the authors take on Virginia Woolfe's death and I liked how it linked the three stories. I will have to give this book a re-read so I remember how much I liked it.

I loved reading this book, it was part of my reading list for my Englisg Lit degree. I really enjoyed reading it because it reminds me of my mother and me - where close but both have secrets from each.

I only read the first book, it was part of my children's literature unit for my English Lit degree - I thought it was OK but when you look at it compared to Harry Potter you can see a big difference - the characters aren't as well rounded and neither is the setting. I may give it another go.

I would love to read them in order but first I need to get through three books I have sat at home and I want to read Stephen Kings back catalogue so got a lot to get through.

The book is fantastic, I read it while I was at university and enjoyed reading. After studying the book, I've read it for leisure serveral times.
Mary Shelly came up with the story while she was on hoilday - herself, Percy Shelley and a couple of other writers, where sat around and decided to tell ghost stories and this is how Frankenstien was born.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_She...here's the link that tells the story of how Frankenstein was created.

I love these books too, I don't think I'm reading them in sequence, I pick them up from the library, so I get what evers in at the time. I read Book of the Dead last and really enjoyed it and because I had read some of the other books I knew who the characters where.

I started and finished this book in one sitting, I found it an interesting take, actually having the dead child narratoring the story from heaven. I have seen this done better, The Poisionwood Bible has a chapter that is done by the youngest child, who is killed during the course of the book, and it is her taken on the her family from heaven.
I don't think this would make a very good movie, just because the subject matter is so sensitive - I think it would be best left as a book.

I fell in love with the Harry Potter books back in 2000, I was on holiday with my family and my cousin had brought the first couple with him, I read them in a couple of days and when I came back off my holidays I went and brought them for myself.
I have since studied the books for a unit for my English degree and it made me love the books even more and I was so sad when they ended.
I like both the movies and the books - though I will sit through the movie going 'they've not added this bit' and 'that bits in the wrong place, it doesn't go there in the book' Prime example of this is in 3rd movie, in the book Harry receives his new broom mid book and McGonnall confiscates it. In the movie he receives it at the end and knows who it is from - in the book he only finds out the broom was from Sirius after he realised his godfather was one of the good guys.

I really want to read The Stand, the size of the book has been putting me off buying it. I intend to order it off amazon - that way I don't have to carry it around shopping with me. I'll comment more once I've read the book.

Lestat should turn them all to Vampires - that way their stories would eb more interesting lol

I always say there is no smoke without fire - the Church is making a huge fuss over The Da Vinci Code saying its not true but if they no it is a work of fiction why make all the fuss. Is the church trying to hide something????
I loved the book and I'm a catholic, I thought using an ancient myth/legend and putting a story for modern times was a great idea. Plus it makes you want to visit the places he describes in the book. I've read all of his books and the only one I wasn't keen on was Digital Fortress.

Michael I like the Mayfairs - my favourite being Mona Mayfair, she starts as a witch and then becomes a vampire. Their story is very long winded and it took forever to read the actual book.
In Interview with a Vampire, I wish Claudia hadn't been killed off, she would have been an awesome book to write - a child vampire wondering the earth - Anne Rice missed out on another great premise there.

I like Jodi Picoults books as well, my first was 'The Tenth Circle'. My Sisters Keeper is a great story and to know that the reason you where born was to help keep your sister alive most be so hard to take and understand.
I heard there was going to be a film, may be interesting to watch - though I may wait till its on DVD - its cheaper than going to the cinema these days lol.

I'm currently reading all of the Sherlock Holmes stories - a friend lent her box set adn so far I love them - The Sign of Four has been my favourite so far but that could change as I read more of the stories.

I studied this book as part of my A-Level English course and to be honest it wasn't one of my favourites - I found it to slow going and I didn't take to any of the characters. I hate it when I don't really enjoy a book.

I think I have read all of Anne Rice's books - Interview with a Vampire is great and I do like the idea of a vampire telling his story and seeing things from there side of things. My favourite book is Blackwood Farm - mingling the Mayfairs and Lestat together.
