I read this book maybe 15+ years ago, & have re-read it a couple of times since then. I think of it often, especially when I use my credit card (as in the beginning of the story, when she discovers her credit card has been de-activated by the powers that be), or when I read articles about Middle Eastern women, with their restricted humanity.
