5048 I'm sorry. I hope you are on the mend!

5048 So, where is everyone posting their tickers? I think this is a good idea! I haven't read from this list in a while and would like to return to it.

5048 I'm interested as well, but I'm in other clubs as well, so just one book for me. And, yes, we can do a poll. The moderator has to set that up.
5048 OK. I thought u meant the Marley & Me movie.
5048 I'm confused. Marley died before the movie was made...
5048 That movie had over 50 dogs playing Marley.
5048 I read this when it was first released and remember zipping right through it. I had a yellow lab at the time, very sweet girl, but we were trying to house train her and were not successful. It was very frustrating. Anyway, I was in tears at the end of the book, and several times in between. I wish there had been more pictures of Marley!
5048 Yeah, BOO on the Morelli choice! And Ranger is not how I pictured, but he might work. I can picture Heigle as Plum. I just hope they will all have accents...

5048 I enjoyed the movie and the book, read the book first.
5048 I just ordered Sizzlin' Sixteen via PaperBackSwap.com! I'm a full-time student, so I haven't been reading much, but I know I'll devour this one the instant it arrives!

Did y'all know there's a movie in the works? Katherine Heigl is to star as Stephanie... wonder what that will be like?

5048 Is this group still active?
5048 Hey y'all. I haven't really been following this group and I feel bad :o(

I've been really busy with school. I wanted to ask though... is there a discussion thread for each book we have chosen for a group read? If so, I might could go through and add my thoughts to any I've read already.

Also, I noticed we haven't had a poll in a while. Are we not doing those anymore? How are we deciding what to read from the list?

Ooh! I will have to get it then... I'm waiting to find one in the bargain bins where I work. It's not yet out in paperback and it's got a hefty price!

I second this nomination. I bought this book in hardcover when it was first released and still haven't read it!
5048 I'm sad that no one here as yet enjoyed this book as much as I did... oh, well! To each his own.

Has anyone read her new novel, The Swan Thieves?

I was hesitant to start it too, due it's door-stopper size, but, really, it was a very quick read for me. There is adventure and suspense aplenty, and so I had to keep turning the pages. Before I knew it I was finished.

BTW, I loved Watership Down as well!

The ending baffled me too, all that suspense and such an anti-climactic ending. Nonetheless, I loved this book. The triple narrative, the history, the travel throughout Europe... I enjoyed the ride! The Epilogue at the end suggests a sequel and I'm waiting patiently for it.
5048 I was first introduced to this series several years ago through BookCrossing. I remember not being that into the series at first, but kept reading them, not understanding why they were so popular. By the time I got to the third book, however, I was hooked and am now Plum crazy. I do indeed actually laugh out loud when I read these, have read the whole series to date, including the in-between-the-numbers novels, which are not as good, but I still enjoy them. After I read Finger Lickin' Fifteen I went back to book one on audio CD and am now working my way through them again. The ones I've been listening to are read by C. J. Critt and I'm not too crazy about her reading. I guess because after 15+ readings on my own, I have each character's voice in my head and it's weird to hear them read differently than I imagined.

My favorite characters... it's hard to choose, but I love Grandma Mazur, and Lula. Stephanie's parents are a hoot, as is her sister Valerie and her Kloughn husband. I also like Sally the cross-dresser/bus-driver.

Morelli vs. Ranger... this is a tough one, but I think I'm on Team Ranger most of the time.

My favorite books... the one with the huge cliffhanger at the end, was it Hot Six? The one where she finally "pays" Ranger back. Also, I love the one where she finally discovers the Bat Cave. Which one was that? I think I read that one in practically one sitting.

This is definitely a series I will keep up with and recommend. It's light, fun reading. I'm even considering purchasing the new trade paperbacks for my permanent collection, I like 'em that much!
5048 I got the book today. The blurbs go on about how humorous the book is, was surprised by that. I'm going to start it after my current read and will post my thoughts when I'm through...
