Thank you for such an insightful question. I certainly did consider all of Hollings' "unlikable" characteristics. My goal was to make Midnight Sin as true-to-life as possible. We all possess character flaws. Main characters without such flaws are, in my opinion, not just unrealistic but predictable. I am glad you enjoyed Midnight Sin.

I am glad you enjoyed Midnight Sin. As for the police procedures described - yes, I tried to keep them as true-to-life as possible. Of course, once in a while, we must take a little "license" to make the story flow.

Thanks for your question. The backdrop of the serial rapist in Midnight Sin was inspired by a true case I worked as a plain clothes cop, before joining the FBI. The case was similar in terms of the rapist MO and our frustration in trying to arrest the rapist. I referred to this case in my first book, Walking the Corporate Beat regarding some last minute decision making. The arrest of that rapist is the most memorable arrest of my career.
