I found writing Radio Shangri-La enormously cathartic and exciting. I meet people all the time who want to write memoirs. You can almost tell who will stick with it through the hard work and who won't.
But I'm curious why we write. For me it was a natural extension as a journalist, but what is it that makes people want to share personal stories?
