I believe I read somewhere that writers are allowed to suggest their own books? If not - please delete me! However, if it's okay, here we go.I have been published in years gone by, when I wasn't quite so ancient, and I have also edited all sorts of things. A year and a half ago I decided to go mad and re-publish one of my books and publish some others for the first time. I took the independent route . . . which, sadly, means that some people write me off as "unreadable", without even having a quick look first.
All my books have had very enthusiastic responses via e-mail, but there are almost no reviews posted in places where they matter to other browsers! So if anybody would like to try me out, you can download sample chapters of these, before committing yourself any further.
Flowers for Alys
A Day to Go Gently
Wild Honey
St James the Less, Penicuik 1882 - 1982
Thanks for reading this far! ;-)
That's the nicest thing about the Internet, I think. You can make friends with people you would never meet in ordinary life. I couldn't have imagined that, even twenty-five years ago.
Your friends weren't in Australia, were they? Mine is - about as far away as she could be from me. Which may be why we're great friends . . . !
It's only a home-made Google thing, but if you're curious, it's here:http://sites.google.com/site/imwrbook...
There's another version of it in khaki, for anybody who doesn't like purple pages!
It was on a Forum, and various members called in and left birthday greetings - you probably know the sort of thing! But one friend had made up a short video especially for me, and that was very funny. It was sweet of her to remember me, but then she's a very good friend.
I don't keep a regular blog, but I have a "News" page on my website, which is about my books. I'm afraid it's mostly advertising!
Sadly - I missed them too! ;-)When you get beyond a certain age (and I have) nobody wants to celebrate with you! But an online friend gave me an online party, which was lovely.
