I am preparing to self-publish a history-inspired novel regarding the Battle of the Atlantic in 1942. My protagonists are a 32year-old German U-boat commander from the lovely, Hanseatic city of Lübeck Germany and a 23 year-old Mexican American Army Air Force pilot from a small Southwest Texas farming town. With a lot of action and technical details, the book describes how a woefully, unprepared America battled against an extremely effective German U-Boat offensive in 1942. Over 300 merchant ships went down off the East Coast of America that year. The personal lives of the two main protagonists, both at war and on the home front, are followed (from their own points of view) through friendships, love affairs, family, danger, longing and loss. The action takes place in Washington state, Florida, Gulf of Mexico, Yucatán and Cuba.
My question is: What are the demographics of my target audience?
