I don't usually have a reading theme for the year, but I have noticed that I have a lot of Arthurian books in my collection - Malory, the Bernard Cornwell trilogy, Stephen Lawhead's series, Richard Monaco's series - as well as a number of standalones. I have also been thinking about reading all of the Shannara books. I'm not likely to do both as that would have me reading fantasy the whole year, which is pretty unlikely.

Is it your first Warhammer book?"First 40K novel - yes, although I am pretty familiar with the general histories in the 40K world - running a gaming store for a few years pretty much required that :) I have also read a few short stories set in the 40K universe, and several novels for Warhammer Fantasy.

I remember about 15 or so years ago, I went to buy a new computer. The store, which was a long-established furniture store that had opened an electronics section, offered terms for interest free payments over two years. I was unable to sign up on the spot because they required a landline number - I had a landline but only to provide my internet connection, I didn't have a handset plugged in. I had to go home and fid my latest phone bill - they weren't offering digital bills back then - and then go back to the store.

I have started reading
Horus Rising. It will fill the far future slot in my Bingo
Andrea wrote: "But we're having unseasonably warm weather so I'm taking advantage of it!"So you're the ones who are stealing our heat!! It's less than a month to the official start of summer here, and yesterday places got snow that don't usually get snow in the middle of winter. Plus 3 of the 10 months this year have set all time rainfall records - Australia is not having a good time with the climate this year.

Welcome to another month. Getting closer to Christmas.
I have started
The Ark Before Noah: Decoding the Story of the Flood

Finished another row, so that's 3 columns (B, I, and O) and 3 rows (1, 3, 5). Only 2 slots left - set in the distant future, and written pre-20th century.

I have finished
Shadow Corps. Overall pretty disappointing - I wasn't expecting it to be YA and I certainly wasn't expecting the LitRPG mechanics in it. I don't think I will finish the series, However, the main characters all wear bio-tech armour, so it will fill the Bio-Tech slot in my Bingo.

Hi Laeti, welcome here. A good way to start getting involved in the group is to let people know what you're reading in the "What are we reading this month" topics

I have started reading
Shadow Corps, which is the first book in the Shadow Corps series. What I didn't know when I started it, is that there is another whole series of 5 books that precedes this series, and would undoubtedly answer some of the questions I have had so far.

I have completed another row, I have now finished 3 columns (B, I, O) and 2 rows (1, 3). 3 books to go.

I have finished
Out Of Time, which I really enjoyed.

I have started
Out Of Time, the first book in the Atticus Wolfe series. This is a Cold War era spy novel, except the protagonist is a 21st century spy thrown back in time.

I have completed my first row - the 1 row. That makes 3 columns and 1 row. 4 books left to complete the card.

I have finished
Fifty Degrees South: The battle at the end of the world novella. I really enjoyed - alien spaceships during a Napoleonic War naval adventure - although the ending left a few too many unresolved questions. I have picked up the Deleted Scenes which will hopefully provide some resolution.
It also fills the Indie Author slot in my Bingo.

I have started reading
Fifty Degrees South: The battle at the end of the world novella. It starts as a Napoleonic Era naval adventure, but with alien spacecraft. It will fill either the Indie Author or Free Book slot in my Bingo.

I have finished
Knights, Witches, and Murder. Its a well-written mystery, and the protagonist makes for an unusual detective, but its an enjoyable story, although a bit slow-paced at the beginning. It will fill the Detective slot in my Bingo.

There is not much about the redesign of Goodreads that I am in favour of - the new book page is not an improvement and the constant popup is very irritating.
