45049 I'm totally new at the Goodreads group thing. So if this is out of place or if I am overstepping my bounds please let me know.

I am interested in how money and currency is portrayed in dystopian literature.

For example, I wrote a book called "RazorWire". It takes place about 100 years in the future after a great destruction. In it people barter items with bullets and bullet casings as a form of currency. I decided on using bullets as the form of currency since in a world similar to my setting bullets would have both scarcity power (since they have lost the technology to mass produce them) as well as utility value (since they can be used for hunting food or personal protection).

The purpose of this post is to ask you, other readers, what sorts of currency and money have you found to be most interesting in the dystopian literature you have read? I am genuinely curious. Thanks
