I bet no one will forget :) but hopefully people will be smart enough not to mention it to Stephenie... (although if I ever got the chance to talk to stephenie, I'd probably be way too nervous and incoherently ramble about only midnight sun).
Tamena - I'm 30 as well, but I never know who's on the other end. Happy book hunting! ohh. I would also suggest The Historian - I enjoyed that one very much. :)
I really enjoyed The Host, but it's adult not YA (just as an fyi in case it matters). If you're looking for vampires, I enjoyed Erin McCarthy's Vegas Vampires series (again, not YA). It's light and funny. (and really vegas is perfect for vampires because it's up all night!) it's definitely not a literary masterpiece, but a fun read just the same.
As to Midnight Sun, I LOVE the partial draft. I can't wait for the rest, but I did recently read somewhere (and right now I can't remember where that is for the life of me) that Stephenie isn't planning to work on the book in the near future (thanks a lot who ever leaked it) but will maybe go back to it in a couple of years if she doesn't hear about it a lot between now and then. (probably so she has time to get over what happened.)
I think the reason she gave that one away was because it happens early on in the book... but man I cannot wait to read this book... I'm even MORE excited now.
I know the cast has it's ups and downs... but I was thinking about it today, and I think one of the benefits of Rob Pattinson playing Edward is that his underlying Britishness will likely help with Edwards more formal way of speaking. (Bella mentions in Twilight before she "knows" that Edward often uses phrases and speaks from a different generation)just a random thought
Rob's not who I would have picked for Edward (I don't know who I would have picked) but he does a GREAT job. YUM. cannot wait until December!
I hope she's talking about turning into a vampire! I'll be really really upset if after all the other stuff they've been through, Bella and Edward don't end up together.
The author isn't really overly descriptive of vampire habits that would be destructive. She describes in great detail what they look like, and how quick and graceful they are, but when it comes to eating or killing... its left very vague (IMHO) Bella was passed out when Jasper and Emmett killed James, (no description), Rosalie stopped when telling her story before it got too detailed, and when Edward kills Victoria in Eclipse, you hear more about it from him asking Bella if she's okay with what just happened (which isn't much) than you see from Bella's point of view. So really I think with the way she writes, if she wanted them to have fangs, it wouldn't necessairly be gory. But I bet the aversion to gory details could be a concession to the YA genre
the teeth are just very sharp and venomous... hence the issues when Bella gets a little too into kissing Edward :)
if I hadn't known Breaking Dawn was coming i would have hated the end of Eclipse just because it left things so unresolved. But knowing there's another book coming I liked the ending, it set up Breaking Dawn really well I thought. I just hope that Breaking Dawn ends well, or at least with a conclusive ending... I would hate to be left hanging at the end of that one.I bet the people that don't like the Eclipse ending are probably Team Jacob people :)
I think Rosalie is a blond, and therefore the actress chosen to play her has a very bad dye job. :) I feel the same way about Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, his dye job is also not stellar.
I agree with Sella, I don't think the actress that plays Rosalie is pretty enough for the part. It's not that she's not pretty, but Rosalie is supposed to be the most beautiful creature ever, and that isn't captured to me.
My guess is that it's a least favorite because Edward (and the rest of the Cullens) are missing through out the majority of the book. I really enjoyed watching Jacob and Bella's relationship grow. I really like Jacob, not for Bella, but on his own at least. :) But it was also hard for me to read about Bella being in so much pain.
however it ends, I hope it's happy and resolved. honestly I think if Bella doesn't end up with Edward there will have to be a drastic twist in Bella's character in the book (like amnesia). And I agree with -Mikeala!- I want Bella to be a vampire so I can find out what her power is :)
probably Edward on the whole. (I cannot wait for Midnight Sun!). but as to the ancilary characters I think maybe Angela and Emmett. Angela because she seems like a true friend to Bella, and I have several friends like that, so I admire her.
Emmett because he just seems so vibrant and fun. Willing to do anything for his family.
I think the only one I have a problem with is Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, and really I think it's just because he doesn't pull off the blond well enough.
