I figured anyone outside the US was probably a long shot.

Started the third book in The First Real Thing trilogy today. (Technically, it was around 12:30 AM. For some weird reason, my muse always wakes up when I'm getting ready for bed!)
This one's about Trevor's son Brian, who we met in book #1. Expect guest appearances by Trevor, Cameron, Mike and Ryan. At this point, that's all this pantser knows - except, of course, that it'll have a happy ending.
Got about 2500 words down on it now, though I usually have to white-knuckle it through the first 10K or so. This week's going to be interesting. :)

It's 2 weeks after Ellora's Cave's RomantiCon, so I'll probably be dragging. But who can resist Nawlins?? ;)

Welcome, Miranda! Thanks for joining us.
Shameless plug - I've written a drag queen book. The cover makes it look like the heroes are two twinks, but Mike (the drag queen) is actually in his mid-thirties. A bit old for twink-dom, methinks. ;)

I'm leaning towards Marines myself. If so, may I call on you to be my RL "technical advisor"? ;)

Once I finish my research - which may take awhile! - I plan to write a m/m romance dealing with a military officer who's been discharged under DADT.
Can't decide which branch of the service I want him to be from, though. Soldier, sailor or Marine?
Which would you like to see, and why?
Thanks for the group invite. I'm not ready to make one for myself yet..."Thanks for joining, Pia. It's kind of an experiment on my part. I honestly didn't think anybody would join.
Amara wrote: "I'm actually very excited about it. I quit reading anything with the girly bits in it awhile ago. I can stand the whiny heroines, and more often than not that's what they end up being. At least ..."There are plenty of "girly bits" in this book, but hopefully not enough to squick you. ;)

Yeah, I'm all about the bad boys. I love a hero who takes no shit. Way back when I read traditional m/f romance, I couldn't get enough of Linda Howard's categories. Her heroes were just so... elemental. Her work's definitely had an influence on mine.
But my fave bad boy of all time? Cash Boudreaux in Sandra Brown's Slow Heat in Heaven. He's an unmitigated bastard up to the book's last paragraph. I absolutely loved Brown for having the courage to do that.

Can't wait to hear what you think, Amara. :)

A lot of people don't really "get" Eric, but I love him. I know exactly where he's coming from. The whole trust issue is very potent for him.

I like coming of age stories too! There's something about that first love that just tugs at your heart.

New topic: Opera & Kink - Intriguing, or too far out there?

New topic - Eric Courtland: The Ultimate Anti-Hero, or Just an Asshole? Discuss. :)

First topic - What are your favorite storylines in m/m romance? What would you like to see more of?
