43442 I use the Velocity Micro Cruz T301 and I was able to find the official leather portfolio case for the Cruz T301/R101 series of readers/tablets at a great price on Amazon for around 25$ when the Velocity Micro company sells it for nearly fifty bucks! It fits well, too. I hardly ever need to take my reader out of it as it has spaces clear on the sides for the ports and buttons, etc.

43442 Welcome! I now look forward to figuring out how far along I am in a certain book. :)

43442 I'm not a huge fan of percentages and I'm so very bad with math but this is what I figured out and hope it can help a bit:

Go to google and type in that percentage plus how many pages there are in your book and it'll give you the right page number you're currently on in regards to the percentage.

For instance: Say you're reading
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1) by J.K. Rowling . It has 310 pages and your reading app says you're 45% through it. Type this into Google:

45% of 310 =

And your current page number for 45% of the way through a 310 page book would be page 139.

So that's a way to tell what page you're on if you at least know what percentage of the book you've read.

43442 I was just wondering what are people's preferred font sizes when reading an e-book? For myself sometimes I like the font small so that I can get a lot on a page and not have to turn the page as often and yet, at other times, I love very large print because I am near-sighted and it makes it so much easier and comfortable to read. Most of the time I'll have it on nearly the largest font possible because reading for long periods the small print starts to hurt my eyes after a bit.

43442 Well, there's always the brand I went with. Velocity Micro Cruz 4gb Tablet/E-Reader You can get the earlier models for under 100$ now. I know it's nothing spectacular but if you go into it realizing that it's NOT a Nook or a Kindle you'll/your child do fine with it. Plus, I think it's a great "first-time" e-reader that's kid-friendly. You can order them online via Amazon.com for a very low price now. I have a four-year-old niece, a five-year-old nephew and an eight-year-old nephew and they all can work the Cruz Tablet just fine without any assistance from anyone most of the time. Good luck on your e-reader adventures and hope you find something that'll work for you and yours.

43442 Hi! My name is Ami, as you can see from my handle. My love of reading was instilled in me from a very young age when my grandmother took me to the library in her small town during the summers I'd visit. Once day a reporter for the local newspaper was doing a story on the little library and I happened to be there and got my photo in the newspaper along with the librarian as I was checking out a book. I grew up trading books with my grandmother and my younger sister, who's also a voracious reader, and visiting libraries at least once a week, if not more. With the creation of the e-reader my reading habits picked up even more and in my opinion goes along with regular printed books very well. There's a time and a place for an e-book and a p-book. I don't have a Kindle because I wanted something that would allow me to do other things than just read; like watch videos, listen to music/audio-books and surf the internet in color so I bought a Velocity Micro Cruz Tablet (t301) which, since they've got their ones out now, you can pick up for less than eighty dollars online currently. Anyway, God bless the makers of e-readers that allow me to carry a mini-library in my purse. lol.
