Come on. There is no need for that sort of language.
You may not agree with Audible's over-generous return policy and people using it, but Jan is legally entitled to use it. As is any other person.
I, personally, think that Audible shouldn't allow returns after a certain point (perhaps 25% read) or if Audible want to continue accepting returns after that point then Audible should still pay the authors and take the hit themselves.
As for the secondhand eBooks. I don't really care about reselling, but I wish there was an easier and legal way to lend or give them to someone else.
Amazon does have a lend option, but it is limited to very few books and is also not available in most non-US markets (like Australia)

I've got free books from them before. They do a nice job.
Time to check out their catalogue.

I'm the opposite way around. Only Mac at home. Only windows at any place I've worked.
I always feel like I'm slumming when I use a PC 😉
I don't game on a Mac or do anything processor intensive, so my computing needs are, more than likely, less reliant on hardware than yours.
I only game on my XBone. I always have 1 or 2 games on the go.

Great effort. 😎 B+. I would have given you an A+, except for one
small thing. 😉

A comedic look at the year we all want to end through the eyes of the worst-informed commentators you'll ever meet. From the creators of "Black Mirror."

I moved straight into Parable of the Talents
I laughed when in Chapter 1 of PotT I read a quote from the extreme far-right Presidential candidate who wants his supporters to help us to to "Make America Great Again"
Octavia wrote that over 18 years before Trump made it his catchphrase.

With the amount of alcohol drunk at extended family barbecues, I'm guessing a few backyard boxing matches take place in Oz on Boxing Day 😉

The chain of negatives in there made my brain cross... :)"
I had to re-read that several times to make sure I had it right. I'm still not 100% sure 😉

I've never been more glad than this year, that I live in a remote mountain town, on a small-ish island, in a country surrounded by vast oceans.
Devils are actually cute, but they scare the bejesus out of you when you hear their screams in the middle of the night, if you camp near them.

Brea acknowledged that a lot of people aren't ready for this and both her and Tom expect some people will choose not to read it.
But we shouldn't not pick books that people don't want to read, yet. Put it aside and read it when life returns to normal.
We have had a few lighter books in the recent picks. So something a little darker is appropriate. Personally, I'm up for as dark as the hosts want to go, but that's me.

I joke. I have committed worse. It is strange when you say a word that you've only ever read for the first time and someone (usually your most sarcastic and vitriolic friend or family member) points out your error.
It is grating when it is in an audiobook and they keep using that same wrong word. It pulls me out of the story.
I forgive American narrators. It's a weird linguistic cultural thang 😉

It is by Jon Stich

It is the only yacht race aussies take an interest in each year. Mainly because it starts in the spectacular Sydney harbour on Boxing Day. Families picnic along the shoreline and watch the start.
It is huge for my state as it finishes in Tassie's capital Hobart and the boats are the backdrop to Tassie's biggest New Year's Eve celebrations which are held on the docks.

Brea did explain her reasons pretty well in today's podcast. She was in the same head space as the rest of you earlier in the year and is now ready for something darker. Not everyone is there yet and may not be for a while.
Hopefully 2021 will be better for you guys.
An alternate read of Finding Baba Yaga: A Short Novel in Verse by Jane Yolen was suggested for those who choose to miss PotS

It is arguably bigger than Xmas in Australia. Xmas Day is traditionally just for immediate family, but Boxing Day is our equivalent of Thanksgiving. It's when you get friends and extended family over for a family feast (which is usually a barbecue outside. Being Summer here after all)
It is also the biggest shopping day in Oz as well (our equivalent of the US' Black Friday. Which we also have) All major shops have their biggest sales to get rid of excess Xmas leftover merchandise.
It is also the start of 2 of Australia biggest sporting events. The Boxing Day Test (Cricket) and The Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

I'm sure one of us can help Brad out (if he wants) I have the mobi Kindle version.

Good suggestion. A 1 month subscription will cost au$16.95. But it worked out better than that.
Even though I have had an Audible subscription before and used the same sign-up details, Audible offered me the first month/credit free 😃
