So far it's quite interesting. Hopefully you end up liking it!
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What's on your May TBR?"I need to finish Hawk Mountain and The Devil and the Dark Water.
If I manage that I'd like to get to How to Write About Africa, the first three volumes of Giant Days, and A Kind of Madness by Uche Okonkwo.
I haven't finished anything.Currently:
Hawk Mountain by Conner Habib
The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton
Next:
There are so many things I want to get to. It'll most likely be How to Write About Africa by Binyavanga Wainaina
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your current favorite drink?"Coffee: Iced caramel macchiato
Soda: Diet coke
I also enjoy lime sparkling water (preferably Waterloo brand but any is fine.)
LCPL wrote: "Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. What do you currently have checked out from the library?"How to Write About Africa by Binyavanga Wainaina
Giant Days vols 1-3 by John Allison
Shanghailanders by Juli Min
A Dream of a Woman by Casey Plett
The House on Via Gemito by Domenico Starnone
Spirits Abroad by Zen Cho
The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton
A Kind of Madness by Uche Okonkwo
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Do you have any fun, cozy, or bookish plans this weekend?"No, I don't. I'll just read whenever I can.
LCPL wrote: "Happy Friday! Hope you had a great week! What does everyone plan on reading this weekend?"I'm not sure. I'll alternate between a few things:
Hawk Mountain by Conner Habib, The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton, and maybe pick up volume 1 of Giant Days. There's also a chance I pick up How to Write About Africa by Binyavanga Wainaina.
LCPL wrote: "This or That: Do you prefer the city or countryside, and why?"Countryside. I'm not a city girl at all.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: When you unhaul books from your collection, what do you do with them? Sell them? Donate them? If so, where?"If they're ARCs, I put them in the little free library in my town.
I usually sell them on pango or I go to a place that will take them for in-store credit / cash. If they don't sell, then I'll put them in the LFL as well.
If my friends want any, I just give it to them.

LCPL wrote: "QOTD: When you buy books, where do you like to book shop?"Lately, I've just been buying books on Pango. I don't go to many physical bookstores.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is the most recent addition to your personal library? Share your latest book haul."Pango purchases:
A Minor Chorus by Billy-Ray Belcourt
Rifqa by Mohammed El-Kurd
I was also kindly given Dear Senthuran by Akwaeke Emezi.
Those are the only ones I can think of.
LCPL wrote: "Happy Friday! Hope you had a great week! What does everyone plan on reading this weekend?"I'm going to try and read as much as I can in Hawk Mountain by Conner Habib. If I happen to finish it, I'll probably read a few volumes of Giant Days.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Do you have any fun, cozy, or bookish plans for this weekend?"I'm having a reading day with friends, and then I'll probably play some Stardew Valley and watch a movie or two. Depending on weather I may take my dog for a walk through the park.
LCPL wrote: "This or That: Reading in a hammock or while swinging on a porch swing?"I love hammocks, so I'll go with reading in a hammock.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: How do you like to spend your rainy spring days?"At home with either a book or a movie on. If it's not really windy or anything, I sometimes open my windows so I can really hear the rain.
Finished: Where the Dead Sit Talking by Brandon Hobson
Behold the Dreamers by Imbolo Mbue
Minor Detail by Adania Shibli

Rainbow Black by Maggie Thrasher

Hawk Mountain by Conner Habib
I never reread Giant Days last year, so I want to possibly read a few volumes of that series.
1. Wendell from Sheets by Brenna Thummler2. The main crew from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda (minus the fighting lol)
3. Feyi and Joy from You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi. I would die to listen to all the gossip.
4. The friend group in Giant Days by John Allison. It would be such a dramatic trip though.
That's all I can think of at the moment.
