40744 The Quasiverse is generally pronounced as in "You kwazy wabbit." Think of it as a combination of Oz, Wonderland, Discworld, and general surreality. It's a place where anything can happen, and often does; where locks are very particular how you stick a key in them; where you never know what color the sky will be when you wake up in the morning; where half a bouquet of flowers may eat the other half; where giant fanged sheeposauruses maintain their own embassy; where you may get trapped in the Elevator of Doom; and where a murder victim may be only randomly dead.

This is where heiress Martia Rosenthal volunteers for a diplomatic assignment while escaping a disastrous love affair--but she finds herself in a land where reason and sanity can take an abrupt left turn at any moment, and where the new friends she meets during her sojurn may be just as insane as the Quasiverse itself.

This is the setting for Stephen Goldin's Quiet Post Quiet Post by Stephen Goldin , a comedy in which nothing can be taken too seriously. The official publication date is August 16, but the book is available for preorder as an ebook at a discount price at Apple iBooks, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Google Play. Learn more about the book at my blog, The Ingesterie. And please visit the official Quiet Post Facebook page. Thank you.

40744 The Eternity Brigade is one of my best-received books, military sf to the core. The hero is a soldier who allows himself to be put into stasis, only to realize he can be reincarnated over and over, forever into the future, fighting wars he has no interest in or understanding of. And more than anything, he wants to find a way out.

And to honor the millions of brave women and men who have sacrificed so much in the line of duty, the ebook version will be on sale through Memorial Day, 5-26-2014, for only $1.99. Just visit its Smashwords page and use coupon code CE36J at purchase.

Thank you, and have a memorable holiday weekend.

40744 I'm very proud to announce that there's a new edition of my wife's and my classic science fiction adventure novel, Jade Darcy and the Affair of Honor (The Rehumanization of Jade Darcy, #1) by Stephen Goldin , with a new cover designed by my wife/collaborator, Mary Mason. For those of you who aren't familiar with this series, I'll point out that Jade has earned a very devoted following over the years.

As a debut weekend special, there's a sale on the ebook edition at Smashwords. Just enter coupon code MJ27G when you buy it to get 50% off the normal list price. But hurry; the coupon expires 3/18.

Pleasant reading.

40744 There's a brand new look to my Parsina Press web site--not just a new color scheme and a more streamlined appearance, but new features as well: a wider choice of buy-links, images of past book covers, reviews, a lot more information.

Plus, to celebrate the redesign, I've got a special limited-time offer for my fans: many of my prime ebook titles are 1/2 off with the coupon codes on this page. There's even a bonbon--a free copy of my story "The World Where Wishes Worked." The coupons expire at the end of the year, so I hope you'll come on over soon and take a look around. Let me know what you think, and pleasant reading!

40744 I just put a new cover on the ebook edition of Polly! by Stephen Goldin , (The paperback edition retains the same cover, which I also like). I'd enjoy hearing what people think about it.

40744 I'm proud of the article about me (and the Saga) in the Beyond Worlds blog this week.

40744 Oh yes, I'm quite familiar with that one--and I agree wholeheartedly. I don't recall explicitly thinking of it as I wrote the book, but I'm sure it was in the back of my mind.

40744 Tom Easton, the reviewer for Analog Magazine, said, "The story gains an emotionality that justifies calling Goldin an artist, not merely a writer." He was talking about A World Called Solitude by Stephen Goldin , which I consider one of my best stand-alone science fiction novels (along with The Eternity Brigade: Final Edition). The book has recently been reissued in an ebook edition from my own Parsina Press.

I've just posted a two-chapter sample here on GoodReads for your consideration. I hope you'll give it a try.

40744 To the best of my recollection, I've never read that particular Asimov story. As far as I'm concerned, it's totally original with me--but I'm flattered by the comparison.

The Anthropos quotes are all mine, too; Anthropos just means "Man" in Greek. One of the perks of being a science fiction writer is that you can make up your own "wise quotes." One reader even suggested I start my own religion, but I was wise enough to decline. I collected some more of the quotes, though, on my Web site under Goldin Rules.

At any rate, I hope you enjoy the rest of the book. Pleasant reading!

40744 Polly! just got a great review from Frida Fantastic, who says, "Polly! is a quirky contemporary fantasy with a hopeful message... The story is comparable to the Frank Capra film It’s a Wonderful Life, but it speaks to non-religious skeptics and has a weirdness that makes it more interesting." See the complete review here.

40744 Mindflight by Stephen Goldin is the first book in the Mindsaga series of science fiction espionage thrillers.

The government of Earth has one main secret weapon in its cold war against its former colony worlds--telepathic spies. But what even the spies don't know is that once they reach their late thirties, they begin to develop strange symptoms that leave them mentally and physically unstable. The Terran Intelligence Agency routinely terminates these unstable telepaths to keep them from threatening the stability of the project as a whole.

Alain Cheney is one of the best telepathic agents in the TIA's arsenal. For 14 years he's been loyal and dependable. But now that he's showing symptoms of the instability, the Agency decides to eliminate him--and just when a secret development occurs that could change the future of the inhabited galaxy.

To survive, Alain must find safety somewhere. But he can't trust his enemies, and certainly not his friends....

Mindflight has just come out in a new ebook edition on Smashwords and Kindle. The exciting sequel, Mindsearch will appear shortly.

40744 The ebook editions of the Agents of ISIS books have now been permanently reduced in price by $2.00 apiece (except for Book #1, Tsar Wars, which is already at a special promotional price). The new lower prices are currently in place at Smashwords; it may take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks for the lower prices to take effect at other retailers. Now is a great time to catch up on the excitement of this space opera series.

Prices of the paperback editions will remain the same.

40744 Assault on the Gods by Stephen Goldin , originally published in hardcover from Doubleday in 1977, is now back in print with all the action intact.

Ardeva (Dev) Korrell is a starship captain overseeing a trading mission to a primitive alien planet where the native culture is being suffocated by strict rules from its "gods." But when those gods kill one of her crewmen with a lightning bolt, Dev finds herself reluctantly drawn into a war with these superior creatures, Now, to survive, she and her crew must stage an assault on the home of the gods and storm the gates of heaven itself,

This is classic space opera adventure with a likable female protagonist. For more details, check out my online bookstore, Parsina Press.

40744 And here's yet another great review Polly! just got, this one from Flying With Red Haircrow. Check it out.

40744 My birthday is still a couple of days away, but I've already gotten a present--a fantastic review of Polly! by Stephen Goldin from Bill & Davilynn Furlow's blog, Great Books Under $5.

The review's final paragraph went straight to my head: "Polly is the kind of book aspiring writers should read just to study the craft. Goldin’s writing is fastidious. And he seemingly has the gift (Would that be a theological term?) of calling on everything he knows from the silly to the profound to create a story that starts out being entertaining and winds up being interesting, even thought-provoking."

I'm hoping such a complimentary review will tempt more people into meeting Polly for themselves.

40744 Tsar Wars (Agents of ISIS,#1) by Stephen Goldin Book 1 of my Agents of ISIS space opera decalogy, is currently being featured on Holly Hooks's Bargain eBooks blog. The blog includes a rave review from a Smashwords reader (and no, I didn't write it myself).

For a limited time only, Tsar Wars is available as a free ebook download in multiple ebook formats from Smashwords to introduce readers to the series. Because Kindle Digital Publishing doesn't have the "free" option, you have to pay $.99 if you want to buy the Kindle version from Amazon--but it's still well worth the price. It's an inexpensive way to learn about this exciting new series of science fiction adventure books.

(The books are also available in paperback format from Parsina Press if you don't want to read them electronically. There's a $2.00-off coupon if you buy the books through this site.)
40744 My ebook Alien Murders (Deborah Rabinowitz Mysteries) by Stephen Goldin has been permanently reduced in price to $1.99. The book comprises two novelettes that were originally published in Analog Magazine.

The book is set in a future where, although physical travel between the stars is impossible because of the vast distances involved, methods of communication are instantaneous. As a result, there are a couple of different ways to visit alien worlds: veering (using virtual reality to project images back and forth), and teeping (using telepresence to control robotic bodies on the other planet). It's even possible to engage in trade, licensing the rights to books, art, inventions, and other intellectual property.

Deborah Raboinowitz is a literary broker. She veers to alien worlds and sells the publishing rights to Earth books. But when an alien is murdered right before her eyes, there's no way she can keep from being involved and solving the murder herself.

Then, when an old friend is accused of a murder on a different world, Deborah has to become a lawyer and defend her friend before a kangaroo court by solving that murder, too.

This book was recently featured on Holly Hooks's Bargain eBooks blog. I hope you'll check it out for yourself. Pleasant reading!
