The Drawing of the Three was so good! It totally made up for my disinterest in The Gunslinger.

Derrick, I think that's awesome! The Gunslinger is pretty unpopular I think as a whole, so it's great you enjoyed it! The Drawing of the Three is AMAZING. You'll love it!

Glad you're enjoying it, Greg! Needful Things is one of my favorites too.

The spider had me gagging in my car! And I cried quite a bit over Brian. It was so tragic.

ugh. RAIDAH (the Maine accent on audio). My. Heart. Broke.

HAHAHA. Wilma is totally an Umbridge.

Oh heyyyy Matt! welcome! :) Also, Gaunt doesn't remind me of Barlow because he's not a vampire. But he definitely possesses some vampiric qualities, like the hypnosis through catching eye contact.

I’m interested to figure out why he’s got different colored eyes to people (if we actually find out). I also like how we don’t exactly know the other half of what Brian ..." It definitely saddens me how it appears that Brian, a kid, is seemingly the first to interact with and be victimized by Gaunt. You can just tell that mayhem is on the verge!

mine too! I have a fear of an apocalypse, so it was the scariest part for me lol
Jeff wrote: "Thanks. I’m excited to read Needful Things since it’s one of three Stephen King books I haven’t finished. I read all of Part One, “Grand Opening Celebration” but stopped for reasons I can no longer..." Yes he does! I listened to it on audio and it's wonderful. It feels like you're hearing the characters and their tones just how King intended us too. I definitely recommend it on audio. Just be ready for some quirky music! Lol

Lol Debbie! I read Needful Things first too and had no idea. ugh lol

Needful Things is a reread for me; I absolutely loved this book! I'll be curious to know how every finds the ending. I clearly see it to be a Dark Tower reference with the coming of the white. But other I've talked to disagree. Any thoughts on this? It seems like a super random reference right at the end and it felt a little rushed and like a scapegoat for the ending. It still gets a 4.5 stars from me, though!

Hahaha the gibberish is so true. I bet King's grocery list drives Tabitha insane. Nonetheless....I'd read it too lol

Needful Things had me hooked from the beginning! I loved the intro pointing out Sonny and Brian Rusk (sp? I listened to the audio). And Gaunt's mysterious entrance.... you just know there is mayhem to follow.

The Gunslinger.....such a tough King book for me to get through lol. I felt like I was just trudging along, waiting to get to the end and start book 2. Fortunately the ending actually worked for me! It left me excited to really begin my quest to the tower!

I'm currently reading WAY too many books lol. I'm on book 2 of the Dark Tower series (The Drawing of the Three), Needful Things, and Rose Madder.
I'm super excited for our read next month, all of the poll choices are great. Along with whatever we decide, I'll also be reading House of Leaves. I'm a bit intimidated by it, though, I have to admit.

I sooo wish I could have liked Gerald's Game! It just wasn't for me. :(
