We'll be at the library ready to help you find a good one.

A wide open topic with plenty of great reads.

We all have at least one!

Okay, readers, head to the starting line! All the discussion topics have been posted. We can't wait to hear from you!

There's plenty to choose from here! Some are more surprising than others. Like Arrival with Amy Adams was
based on a short story? Yup, it sure was. What will you choose?

The Goodreads Choice Awards ballot for Debut Author 2018 is chock full of goodness. Check it out

How great is it that the library offers access to free ebooks through THREE different apps??
Overdrive is our flagship collection of digital materials and it contains the most popular items.
Hoopla offers instant access to its entire collection with immediate downloads.
RB Digital is generously provided by the Connecticut State Library.
Lastly, you are welcome to use
Gutenberg.org, a free, online collection of over 75,000 digital books that fall under public domain, which means they are free from copyright restrictions.

This is the only category that we specify fiction over nonfiction. There's no limit on how back you can go for time period either! How current is the time period that would still be considered "historical fiction"? Is a book set in the 1980s "historical"?

That's a fantastic suggestion! And I'm a fan of trying any books that's considered a "favorite" of the person who suggests it.

Fiction or non-fiction will do. What books can you think of to help our fellow readers?

Can you think of any off the top of your head?

This can be fiction or nonfiction and include a whole variety of topics. We look forward to seeing what you pick.

One of Andrea's favorite food books is
On the Noodle Road: From Beijing to Rome, with Love and Pasta and she highly recommends it for anyone with an interest in food and travel!

We're only talking one story, not a collection, so feel free to choose at your leisure. Some of our favorite short story collections are
Tenth of December and
Let it Snow.

The library keeps tabs on these two lists from USAToday and the New York Times, but you are welcome to choose from any bestsellers list:

We'd love to know how and where you find the titles you choose and any other hidden gems of info!

FYI: The Winter Olympics will be happening from February 9 to 25, 2018 and the World Cup will be this summer. There are some great sports to be covered in lots of different choices.

Music is our Summer Reading theme this year, but you can read this one at any time!
