You know , it's funny. I've always had a minor obsession with Ancient Egypt, but NuruSekhmet actually came to me in a dream over 10 years ago now. She's evolved a fair bit since the first initial drafts of the book, but that's a good thing, I think. As for 'why Sekhmet'... well, she's really a fascinating goddess, in my opinion. As an instrument of Ra's vengeance upon humanity, she nearly wiped humans out, but she then evolved into a protector goddess. She has so many roles and titles that she truly is an 'every goddess' in many ways.

To my mind, Nicole has always had dark brown to black hair with intense blue eyes; think of how Wonder Woman is often drawn. I've actually recently found an actress that is as close a physical representation of Nicole as I've ever seen: Danielle Ruah from NCIS: LA. Give the girl some blue contacts and a few months of training and she'd be great for the movie!
