385405 While this category feels relatively specific, there's actually a lot of ways to play it. You can go nonfiction or fiction. Plus there are a number of different wars that are featured in the book - Revolutionary, Civil, World Wars, Napoleonic, etc. Also, the war doesn't need to be the main feature of the book - time period just needs to be wartime so the book doesn't need to be all soldiers and battles. With all of these options, what books would you suggest for this category?

385405 Some people are speed readers and can read 300 pages in one day, although I don't think that skill applies to a lot of people. Still, with the popularity of novellas and shorter books, there are more books available that can be read in one day. What quick reads have you stumbled upon? 385405 While books set in the South sounds straight forward, what exactly is considered "the South"? Believe it or not, "the South" isn't Southern United States. According to Wikipedia, the South "is commonly defined as including the states that fought for the Confederate States of America in the American Civil War." So for this category we're looking for books set in those states. Based on the map from the US Census Bureau, that includes Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgian, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, South and North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware.

Do you agree with that description of the South? Share your opinions and book recommendations here!
