50x66 Of the recent books you've read, which do you think would make a great movie, and who should play the lead roles?

50x66 I admit my writing schedule keeps me from reading as many books as I used to back in the day.
I like the Alex Cross books by James Patterson. I think they are pretty well plotted.
I also like Walter Mosley's Easy Rawlings series. I'm impressed by the way he progressively incorporated black history through the decades into his stories.
50x66 Here are a few of mine. I'm a fan of the Lew Archer series by Ross MacDonald. I liked the way his plots existed in a circle of interrelated characters with ties to present and past events.
Mickey Spillane's thrillers and Mike Hammer detective novels had a raw hard edge to them. Mike Hammer must've shot more females than all the other P.T's combined.
I'm also a fan of Chester Himes' Grave Digger and Coffin Ed urban crime books. He had to be one of the first novelists to do crime novels from the African American perspective. I believe the books were first published in Europe because American publishers weren't interested.
