36561 other than the kings speech, there really is nothing out until Gnomeo and Juliet.

36561 I just saw the King's Speech, best movie of the year I thought. It was absolutely amazing: a movie that was actually focused on plot, filled with wonderfully talented actors and really well written. I laughed I cried, it was awesome.

36561 no, that wasnt me.

36561 Same here, I can't believe they're on itunes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

36561 Erk...i dont think Heath Ledger was a good actor at all. Nonetheless, he was amazing in the Dark Knight. That movie was just incredible.
Nov 24, 2010 03:57PM

36561 Colin Firth is awesome. Even though What a Girl Wants wasnt a good film, Colin Firth made it funny. And he was a really good mr. darcy and i loved him in love actually

36561 I just saw Jerry Macguire (not sure about spelling.)
It was so good!!! I mean sure, a little cheesy, but still. I loved it.

36561 Dinner for Schmucks was funny, but it was like...really just...sad in a way.

Date Night was hysterical! I laughed so hard when watching it. Tina Fey and Steve Carrell the most amazing duo I've seen.

36561 It's like, the plot isnt important. Have you ever seen singing in the rain? Now obviously thats way better than Across the Universe (gene kelly=life) but in that movie the plot isnt terribly important. its like that for across the universe
Oct 04, 2010 02:29PM

36561 isamlq-YAY! He's very enjoyable.

Bronwyn--across the universe is less about the plot than it is about the visual art that is put to beatles music, which are used to move along the plot. If that makes sense.....

36561 Fight Club was amazing!
And Gorfo, I totally disagree, Edward Norton is an amazing actor. He's played so many characters with really complex psyches and its pretty incredible that he can pull it off. Sure Hulk wasnt the greatest movie, but that was in no way Norton's fault. And Founders, was also only an okay movie, but I think his agent just has issues, Norton was amazing.
Isamlq, I'm with you. OUCH.

and in response to Jim Sturgess--he is amazing. In both 21 and others. Across the Universe isnt a bad movie at all, they ruined some of the songs, but that's what the Beatles wanted people to do! They were totally psyched whenever people redid there songs, because they wanted people to take their lyrics and tunes and put there own twist on them. Because thats what not only performers, but real musicians want.So yeah not all the songs were as good as the originals, but the creative interpretation of most of the songs was really original.

36561 Easy A was hysterical. I agree
Sep 20, 2010 04:58PM

36561 Yeah, essentially that's all he's been in.
I really like Edward Norton. I think he's nearing genius. I mean sure he's had some bad movies (*cough* founders *cough*) but his acting was fine, his agent wasnt.
And Jim Sturgess. I loved 21, and Across the Universe...well I have a whole rant about that.

36561 I looked Sharlto Copley up...He hasnt been in too much. What did you see him in that you liked?

36561 Con Air!!! (if something goes unanswered for 10 days, then you can give the answer and try another quote)

36561 Ok i saw The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus and had very different feelings. It was really really really bizarre. The plot was kinda scattered and I get the feeling that that might have been the point, but still. The lessons it was supposed to be portraying were very shady and confusing. I couldn't honestly tell you what it was about, because I'm not entirely sure myself.
I thought Heath Ledger was okay...
I'm with you Gorfo, there were a large amount of awesome actors, but even with that in mind, I still didnt like it. Its not something I would rewatch.
It could be that it wasnt my type of movie..

36561 Haha actually its funny that neither of you guys liked Alan Rickman's singing because he's the only one in the movie that did have a background in musicals. He was in a couple operas in london. I think he just doesnt sound as good because it doesnt mix well with johnny depp, who is singing like 3 octaves higher =P

I love Edward Scissorhands!!!
