On a cold spring night in 1952, a huge meteorite fell to earth and obliterated much of the east coast of the United States, including Washington D.C. The ensuing climate cataclysm will soon render the earth inhospitable for humanity, as the last such meteorite did for the dinosaurs. This looming threat calls for a radically accelerated effort to colonize space, and requires a much larger share of humanity to take part in the process.
Elma York’s experience as a WASP pilot and mathematician earns her a place in the International Aerospace Coalition’s attempts to put man on the moon, as a calculator. But with so many skilled and experienced women pilots and scientists involved with the program, it doesn’t take long before Elma begins to wonder why they can’t go into space, too.
Elma’s drive to become the first Lady Astronaut is so strong that even the most dearly held conventions of society may not stand a chance against her.
Apples Never Fall
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Liane Moriarty comes a novel that looks at marriage, siblings, and how the people we love the most can hurt us the deepest
The Delaney family love one another dearly—it’s just that sometimes they want to murder each other . . .
If your mother was missing, would you tell the police? Even if the most obvious suspect was your father?
This is the dilemma facing the four grown Delaney siblings.
The Delaneys are fixtures in their community. The parents, Stan and Joy, are the envy of all of their friends. They’re killers on the tennis court, and off it their chemistry is palpable. But after fifty years of marriage, they’ve finally sold their famed tennis academy and are ready to start what should be the golden years of their lives. So why are Stan and Joy so miserable?
The four Delaney children—Amy, Logan, Troy, and Brooke—were tennis stars in their own right, yet as their father will tell you, none of them had what it took to go all the way. But that’s okay, now that they’re all successful grown-ups and there is the wonderful possibility of grandchildren on the horizon.
One night a stranger named Savannah knocks on Stan and Joy’s door, bleeding after a fight with her boyfriend. The Delaneys are more than happy to give her the small kindness she sorely needs. If only that was all she wanted.
Later, when Joy goes missing, and Savannah is nowhere to be found, the police question the one person who remains: Stan. But for someone who claims to be innocent, he, like many spouses, seems to have a lot to hide. Two of the Delaney children think their father is innocent, two are not so sure—but as the two sides square off against each other in perhaps their biggest match ever, all of the Delaneys will start to reexamine their shared family history in a very new light.
Thanks everyone for being patient with me! RL has been a bit of a trainwreck with 2 bereavements and a complete change of routine with my son starting school. I'm hoping that we have everything back to a new type of normal now.1. If you are skipping/helping a task, please remember that your books need to met the criteria to move in that direction.
2. If I have missed you on my sweep through of new mazes, please message me and let me know

I've noticed lots..."
One of the reasons for the lack of consistency is that GR keeps mucking about with their pages and what they call things. Currently for this challenge shelved/main page genre (MPG) is the first page of tags. By tagged I'm happy with it being any number of tags.
Casey wrote: "Has anyone found a work around for the new book page not showing a full list of tags for books that don't have many? I've been using my lesser read by others books for the different shelf challenge..."How are you accessing the page Casey? If it is via mobile, I'd try switching to the display desktop site option and see what happens.
Ashley wrote: "Does anyone have a good method for searching out character names in books, even outside of GR? I'm having a time finding something."Unfortunately not. If someone has included them in the book details on here I can find them.
Alphabet challenges might be able to help with some inspiration, but definitely not an easy search.
Casey wrote: "Hello! Just want to double check, do fantastic creatures like dragons count for the “book with an animal on the cover” task?"I'll count them given that werelions are being allowed as lions for that task.

You've got a treat in store! Really enjoyed the whole series.
William doesn't get any better at the end of part 3 (view spoiler). Having said that, I think Alfred is capable of being as malicious, he just doesn't have the societal power and backing to pull of the same level of malevolence.
Thanks everyone for joining in!I'd love to know what your favourite mini challenge was or if there was something you never want to see again!
Did we throw too many things in or so you live for full on challenges?
Cassandra's ComedyCivCEO was at A Carnival of Snackery. It was Midnight at the Electric when he heard CivCEO2 whisper Nothing to See Here. He jumped and tried to use his Rational Faculty.
Instead he saw CivCEO3 tell The Convenience Store Woman that The Best Thing was a Blood Promise. She said Hard Pass and gave the Glare to CivCEO4.
CivCEO was puzzled. What were the Transactional Dynamics between them. He had thought they were Strangers on Board but this seemed more like her Bad Ex-Boyfriend.
CivCEO's bafflement was compete when he saw CivCEO5 shouting Final Orders for Hidden Pictures and CivCEO appearing to buy them.

In The Last House on Needless Street, Hamlet struggled to stay awake. He was Haunted by The Deepest of Secrets. His Criminal Past was coming back to him like a Bullet Train. Four years ago he had been Alone In The Wild, a Bad Situation. He'd been walking and found himself One Foot in the Grave. As A Stranger in the nearby Town he was counted as Guilty by Association. He was Hooked with no thought to Reasonable Doubt.
The Memory Police used his Twisted Loyalties to show How Democracies Die. He would remember the Police Brutality in his interviews until the End of Days.

We've somehow only got 2 days left! How are we that close to the end! Thank you everyone who has stuck with the challenge through the rough times that have hit and thanks to our subs from Team Gods - we couldn't have got to the end without any one of you.Mini is very close to being done:
Erato - Keri I had put Lakesedge in for a pair. Please say if it's not going to get finished and I'll create something from the unused books.
Calliope - Elli, Alison and I are reading books for this and we've got 1 unclaimed if anyone wants to read something read by another team member. Any recommendations would be very welcome.
Clio - Audrey and Amy have books in progress. One book unclaimed at the moment.
Thalia - Amy has a book on the go for a gown on the cover.
Can't believe how close to having books for all the tasks we are!
