Anyhow - finished Truevine: Two Brothers, a Kidnapping, and a Mother's Quest: A True Story of the Jim Crow South by Beth Macy as my American read. Completed Most Scandalous Woman: Magda Portal and the Dream of Revolution in Peru - updated SS.I've been reading this book off and on since November, so this put a kick to me to finish it, and I'm glad I did. A friend wrote it, so I gave it a 5 star, even though this is not the kind of book I generally pick up and love.
It was really interesting, though, and since I got so involved in US politics during 2016, I could see some parallels. Not in the way my friend who wrote it did, which is why I'm cool with giving it 5 stars. It's a political book, written in a way that anyone reading it can apply it to their own lives.

I am really running behind because I got ridiculously busy, but I should be finished with mine by Thursday.
@Tahmina - I *did* end up liking the Sun Also Rises, even spending most of the book despising all the characters and hating it! I dunno, it was the last portion, as Jake cleans up after Brett again. "Isn't it pretty to think so?"
