Do you have to finish spelling out the word to get another letter that was already used. For example we have the MBR i think of UMBER. so we only need the U and E but i have a book with a B or R. So should i look for a book with U or E or just read the one i have. Also i feel kinda dumb asking but whats a shifter book

Can you only use books from your team towers bookshelf because I just finished a book but it wasn't on the bookshelf
wait is tower teams still going on. I took a break from Goodreads because of college but I thought this ended on July 31st.

Chapters 9 - 207. So very much happens in this section, I almost don't know where to start. Ok. The Tacsis family sends 2 different delegations after Nona. The first time, Raymel's brother attacks her. Do you have any speculation what exactly is going on with her hands? I'm struggling trying to coincide a family with that much power, money, and influence having a son fighting in the 'pits'. Do you think we've really seen the last of this family?
I do not understand how one family can be so mad at an 8 year old. I mean like sure, she tried to assassin your son, but she's so young. I might just be feeling sympathy for her, but the guy was hurting her friend, so I think she had a right to defend her friend. I do not think that is the last time we see that family. Im predicting they will cause a war or uprising of some sort maybe for the second book or something like that.
8. Nona appears so naive in social situations. She seems to place a high value on friendships. I found myself wondering if Clera had not somehow sold information on her in town and that is how she switched her penny for a silver coin. Do you see that naivete somehow playing a further plot point in the story?
Now that you pointed it out, I think that is exactly what she got the money from. I didn't even think about that. It makes sense now that the nun came up to her and told her not to trust her which I overlooked originally thinking maybe she just overheard her talking or something. I think that Nona will learn a future lesson about trusting people but I seriously hope its not with Hessa. I love Hessa!
9. The faux trial, the truth test, the Shield test. Wow! It was nonstop. I had to keep reminding myself that Nona is not yet even a teenager. It was hard to stomach. That one man could force all of this cruelty and chaos. And that everyone went along with it. What was your biggest takeaway? What did you enjoy the most? The politics, the revelations, the action? Were you satisfied with how it eventually resolved?
I think that the old high priest was too concerned about the money he was bringing in or maybe even threatened by the family. That however doesn't overpower he fact that he was trying to kill an EIGHT year old kid! My biggest takeaway was that they were able to overthrow him the whole time. And they waited til after Nona almost died. They couldn't do it before. This leads me not to trust them either. How can you watch an eight year old have an arrow shot at them and not say anything about it.
10. We learned more about the prophecy. Both what is rumored and what the Abbess believes. We also learn what Arabella and Nona will claim as their Sister names. Do you think it was really Arabella in the Prologue? Have you changed your viewpoint on Arabella?
I think that theres a good chance that it is Arabella in the prologue and that Nona is waiting to attack from some hidden place as back up. I think that they will become friends in time, maybe after someone betrays her friendship trust. I have actually changed my viewpoint. I think that after Arabella learns a few more lessons at the convent, maybe she will be less bratty. Hopefully she's not plotting some sort of revenge against Nona right now
11. As we come to the middle of the novel, have your thoughts changed regarding any of the characters? The style? The book itself? Any major surprises? What do you think will happen next?
My thoughts have changed about Clera. She doesn't seem like that much of a good friend anymore. I also think that the nuns, no matter how strict they are, really do care about the girls. They just need to discipline them to teach them what is necessary. I now really like the style. I have learned when to expect the flashbacks which has made it easier to understand and I really like the pace now. I think in the next part either the old high priest or the angry family will create a rebellion and go to war with the convent which could lead into the next book.

Chapters 1-81. The opening line of this book had me really sit up and take notice! Did it hit you in the face too? What's your favourite opening line from a novel? (Mine is Anna Karenina: "All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way"
1. I liked the opening line. It jumped right in, but then went back and somewhat explained what they were talking about. I like when they do the flash forwards because it gets you more interested. I can't remember any opening lines from any books.
2. The Author's Note at the front says to skip it and return only if you need it. So.. I skipped it. (I'm not big on spoilers). How about you? Did you skip it, or read it?
2. I also skipped it. I started reading it and it was a little confusing because I didn't get the references but after about three lines I read the part that said to skip it so I did.
3. How are you finding the style? Do you like the flashbacks into Nona's past?
3. I don't really like the flashbacks. They were confusing at first but once you know about them you start expecting them. I think that they are a bit unnecessary at times though.
4. Raymel Tacsis is "surrounded by Academy men sweating to keep him from death". Would you want people to try and save you like this, given the risks?
4. I would not. I think Raymel Tacsis is pretty selfish and he should be more concerned about his men who are keeping him alive than himself. How are they supposed to do they're job if they're dead.
5. What do you think of the world building? I'm finding it quite intriguing. And I love the names of the Sisters (flint, apple, wheel!). What name would you give yourself?
5. I like the world building. I think its interesting learning about the setting but I do feel bad for the kids as well. If I was a nun I would name myself after something fierce but also beautiful so probably Sister Fire or something along those lines.
6. Initial thoughts - are you enjoying the book so far? Any favourite characters?
I am definitely enjoying this book so far. My favorite character is Nona because she just seems to do whatever her first thought is (kinda like me) and my second favorite is Hessa because she's so friendly and just seems like a great person.
P.S sorry ab not bolding stuff. I got a new computer and haven't figured it out yet

I liked the first section... in the beginning I was worried it would take awhile to get to more exciting stuff but it didn't. It had a good pace
