I love that your priority was unboxing your books 😍
Did the move go okay?
35559 I just don't feel the tension with Peeta. I wonder how much of this has to do with the typical trope of MC liking the "bad boy." I am really trying to change my opinion of him this time around.
35559 I finished the other day, and I am thinking more and more about the Capitol and how they rely on the other districts for their resources. They have subjugated these people and live off of what they supply.
I love the minor rebellions in each of the districts - and how Katniss takes up this cause. The kiss to the camera, the flowers around Rue, Rue's song. All of these attempts to make something human out of an inhumane way of living.

Yes, Cinna is my favorite character in the whole series.
35559 I am re-reading the series for the challenge - and I am still loving them. I wonder about the commentary of rich v. poor and what Susan Collins used for inspiration. My favorite character is Cinna though. He is a true artist - and can see through the facade of most things. He is loyal to Katniss without romance.

I guess that is true - she may be the vehicle for telling the story instead of being completely developed as a character.

Same on the narrator - are you listening to Carolyn McCormick? I need more of a bite with Katniss. I loved Jennifer Lawerence as the actress who plays her, but this narrator is just not biting enough for me.

I have always like Katniss - but then I always like people who are rough around the edges.

Oooh - an underwater sequel trilogy would be supper cool.

The narrator is such a thing! I am listening to The Hunger Games and the narrator is really not doing it for me. I need Katniss to have more of a bite to her voice.

I also like to listen and read to a book - I often will skim back in a book if I've missed something.

What's a "work book?"
I loved reading to my daughters. It was another one of my favorite times of day.

35559 1) What is everyone's favorite reading format?

All of them :) I start the day listening to an audio as I walk the dog and do morning things. I sometimes get a chance to read a bit with the kids at school, but really, it's after school that it kicks in again. I often listen while I cook. Then after dinner it's couch time with the pets and a print book, and then a Kindle in bed so I don't keep the hubby awake.

Do you have any specific or particular/peculiar reading "rituals" or habits?
After dinner is my favorite time of night. My hubby, the cats, and the dog and I all pile on the couch and I read. I also reserve Saturdays for limited chores and more reading time.

I have to do other things too of course, but I always get back to this routine as quickly as possible.

I've got you.
If you want to enter a completion post on the thread just have these things:

Completion Post:
Book Read
Author
Pages
Resource Used
Reason for this resource

And if it's for the mini, put that after the completion post.

35559 The games have begun!
I've grabbed Wildoak by C.C. Harrington from the audio cornucopia. I'm hoping the snow leopard on the front will help with some defense. I've got What's Cooking in the Kremlin From Rasputin to Putin, How Russia Built an Empire with a Knife and Fork by Witold Szabłowski for a regular book, and now I just need one for my Kindle. I love having all media types at the ready :)
